And we shouldn't be surprise if their business suffers for it in the long run. (see: law firms who settled with Trump vs. those who didn't) It seems like every decision they make is under a sword of damoclese because they have a merger pending that needs federal approval. Which is an abuse of power by trump obvs but theyre also submitting in advance 1 Quote

My only point is there is risk as well insofar that doing things like pushing out the highest rated late night host on television (for transparently obvious reasons), gutting 60 minutes, etc. harms the brand to the point where the pros might not be worth the cons. Washington Post is a good example here - since October of last year, they are largely worse off as a brand and are getting their lunch money taken by the WSJ and the Times. Personally, I think these entities would be better off telling him to go **** off, particularly since he's proven time and again that even if you deal with him, he'll always come back and ask for more. mtutiger Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) As far as Colbert goes, I am not worried about him, someone will hire him and get a foothold into his viewership. While CBS will be showing 30 minute timeshare ads after the 10:00 news lol Edited 3 hours ago by mtutiger Quote

All the evangelical people think he’s Cyrus, so it’s OK. All the superwealthy people are getting rich off him, so they don’t care. All the incels think he’ll get them laid Handmaid’s Tale style, so they’re eager for that. The rest of the people who voted for him are those who didn’t follow closely enough and thought he was just another Republican. Those who are truly ignorant of even this probably don’t bother to vote. The rest voted against him. 1 Quote

Its confirmation that the system is no longer one where free speech is protected. It's the timing, I don't think it had anything to do with Trump. All three networks made a play at late night after the Leno/Letterman era and yes Colbert arguably is the best rated now, but shares continue to slip due to the greater competition, plus now you compete with cable news who puts more effort into their late night shows, and cutting the cord. Plus Fallon is signed for multiple years still. I probably would have guess Kimmel would be the one left out and he still may be as well. Quote
