Eh, its more the Nets than the Pistons.  About 4 of their starters are out and a few key bench guys too.

If the current injury report stands, I believe they will put a starting lineup on the floor that doesn't have a single player averaging over 10 PPG this season.  Claxton would be the leading scorer at 9.7 PPG.

So you get Claxton hoisting 20 shots I guess haha

Even Simmons is out.  What are they going to do without their 15th best leading scorer?

I was reading today that Ivey's injury/surgery has a 4 to 6 months recovery time. E-gads.

I didn't watch but man, looking at that box score, that Nets team would have lost to last years Pistons team.

A neat non displaced Fibula fracture could have been less but apparently Ivy wasn't that lucky. Just for comparison, and granted Hutchenson broke his Tibia also, but he were to make it back by the SB that would be 4 months and that's still considered unlikely by most people.

Over .500 nearly halfway through the season.   Who saw this coming?     I thought I was Optimistic when I said 30-52.   

I know there would not be a chance of him winning it with a team that's 32-4 (and and another at 30-6), but J.B. Bickerstaff certainly should be a finalist for Coach Of The Year so far. 

But now there's a dilemma -   The trade deadline.    Some teams will have interest in Beasley, Harris and Hardaway Jr and others that have really helped Cade become a star player.     If this team is still around .500 and still within 1-3 games of the Top 6, do you go for it because you haven't given this town a playoff game for so long or do you try to get more draft capital to make sure the team is infused with young talent?  

Seems like the NBA East is Cleveland, Boston, New York and then everyone else.     If you get into the playoffs you'll probably have to play one of those teams, unless the team pulls off a miracle and cracks the top 4.  Crazy as it may seem, they are only 2 1/2 games out of #4  (and 1 game out of the 5 slot).     

I know there is a house of cards feel to it and you better hope Cade stays healthy, but the Pistons are in a group of 6 or 7 teams who are in a very similar position right now.    They've made me interested in them again.    

Cade's quietly one of the best players in the NBA right now.     It's nice to see the team can win when he has a so-so night.  The Nets are an awful team, but last year's Pistons would not have won.

I saw before the game that the Pistons were 9.5 point favorites on the road and couldn't believe my eyes but then I saw the Nets lineup and understood why, that's a glorified G-League lineup. In any event, the Pistons took care of business which is a good sign of growth. 19-18 is crazy especially after the 0-4 start, 19-14 in their last 33 considering the last 4 seasons is surreal.

Most were predicting 30 wins as a good season and a good step forward, 40 now seems realistic. Amazing what competent coaching and a few solid vets could do for a young group. What Weaver and Monty did should be considered executive and coaching malpractice.

Orlando and probably Milwaukee will be in that mix. Orlando is devastated by injury but they'll be healthy come playoff time and be as dangerous as anybody. Milwaukee and Philly with Giannis and Embiid will be a threat. After that, it's wide open.
