Penn State just lost 22-21 to Northwestern in Happy Valley.

And the Hoosiers are for real.

With the win over Oregon and Oklahoma getting destroyed against Texas - Indiana may be #3 or #4 tomorrow.

The Cignetti guy is 64.  How did nobody discover this guy before now?

And MSU - Wow, losing 38-13 at home to a 1-4 UCLA team

And Franklin WILL survive the season - it would cost WAY TOO MUCH to fire him

Franklin is just not a good coach.  The question is if Sherrone Moore is.

moore was not ready to be michigan's head coach.  but the money cannon has brought him the #1 qb recruit and #1 rb recruit in back to back years.

next year he'll have to show he can coach.  this year is a rebuild.

im shocked.

I’m not sure that was the right decision. It was clearly an emotional decision. Ultimately it may have been the right call, but it probably shouldn’t have been made today.

That's 2 or 3 of your biggest boosters saying "do it or else....."

What bothers me is the cost of buying him out and how it comes from the state (commonwealth) of Pennsylvania, does it not?      To have this kind of money to throw around, but  to still have so many people in need.

We prioritize the wrong things.   It's just a stupid game.    Thought about this after the Tigers loss.   It pissed me off for a day, but really does not effect my life in any way.

As a Michigan fan, I wanted Franklin to stay.

Franklin is like Jim Caldwell.  Has good teams, but can never win the big game.   He has them prepped, but makes bad in-game decisions.    There is a likely opening in East Lansing coming,  MSU could do a lot worse than James Franklin.

yep.   But when they needed him to fill in - he did the job and he's beaten Ohio State.     Wasn't the biggest name, but no reason to get on him.  They weren't winning that game last night with a Freshman QB.    When you have an 18 year old at that position, you're gonna have some struggles.    Underwood hasn't been bad this year, he just hasn't been good either.  He's been a little better than I expected.    Michigan fans need to understand that when they made that kid the starter they were saying this would not be a contending year.   But their schedule is cake the rest of the way.   Washington, MSU, Purdue, Northwester, Maryland, Ohio State.    They could be 5-1 right there.   9-3 might mean playoffs - especially when they want your brand in the mix.     And if they could be Ohio State last year............

With Jim scurrying like a cockroach when the lights came on, Moore has managed well.  Others would have crumbled.

This. In a sane world someone at PSU or Harrisburg, or both ought to be broomed for that kind fiscal irresponsibility.

..yeah - I'll keep dreaming.

I'm shocked, too.

Was it USC that started out as a preseason #1 and fell flat to a 6-6 season a few years (decades) ago?  That's about what this PSU seems like.

Do rebuilds even exist anymore? 2 bad years at a program like Michigan is not really excusable IMHO.

if they win out except for osu it will be looked at as improvement over last year, but i dont think that will happen.

i think michigan will lose at least once before osu and then will lose big to osu.

next year they need to be contenders or moore will be in trouble.

i dont think it will matter because i dont think moore is good enough.  he was a hire made quickly in a bad situation.  and it shows now.

I will believe a Ryan Day coached OSU team will beat Michigan when I see it, ha (yes, I know it happened in 2019)

well you sure don't get many "Oh, where did that come from?" moments of unexpected creativity/success from a Moore coached team. IDK how much of that is completely necessary to be good, but a lot of the best teams have it.

he was put into a position he wasnt prepared to take.  not his fault.  warde manuel and jim harbaugh's fault.

as g2 points out - not in these exact terms - the only thing jim harbaugh loves more than michigan football, is jim harbaugh.
