And here is another curiosity: Harbaugh is supposedly this straight arrow Mom, God and Country straight arrow and he's the one setting up this dawg as the next best young guy since sliced bread? How does that work? if harbaugh's reign at michigan taught us anything, its that attention to detail in personnel matters is not his priority and back in the day there were plenty of stories about harbaugh doing what one would expect nfl players of doing with women. lots of them. who knows about now? dude is a lot older. sherrone's personal life is his own business, imo. lying to your employer about a relationship with a staffer that is against the rules at your job is a fireable offense. so he has to be fired. being "up in some onlyfans girl's dms" is his own business. going to diddy parties is his own business. his relationship with his wife and kids is his own business. people's personal lives and romantic entanglements take all sorts of twists and turns. check out family court once in a while. with that said, it is another public relations embarassment for the university. Mr.TaterSalad Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago (edited) I have been a fan of the University of Michigan and UofM Athletics all my life. Since I was a little kid, I have taken an interest in Michigan football, Michigan basketball, Michigan hockey. I've gone to countless games with my father and other friends of mine over the years. I've spent hours upon hours of my life invested physically and emotionally in watching Michigan games. Being a Michigan fan this past decade has been particularly exhausting and in some cases, flat out embarrassing. This University has been plagued with scandal after scandal after scandal. The latest scandal, with the Sherrone Moore coaching situation and Moore's actions behind the scenes, are one more in a long line of embarrassing and deeply troubling scandals. In my view, it won't matter who the football coach is unless the culture changes within the University of Michigan and its athletic department. The culture won't change until Warde Manuel is gone. You can bring in Nick Saban himself, the best college football coach in America, and this athletic department will still remain broken as long as Warde is steering the ship. Michigan has reached a point where keeping Warde Manuel as athletic director is no longer sustainable, given how he has utterly failed to handle some of the biggest controversies and scandals across multiple, major, athletic programs. From basketball to football to hockey, we've seen one scandal after another under Warde's tenure as AD. Enough already! Under Jim Harbaugh and Warde Manuel's "leadership", Michigan athletics have went through went through multiple, highly publicized NCAA investigations. Its been the worst in our football program, but hasn't stopped there. Recruiting violations, players getting gun charges off the field, sign-stealing allegations, cheating in games, and now the Head Coach allegedly sleeping around with his subordinates. These scandals seemingly never end and yet Manuel was largely invisible throughout the process, offering little public leadership. Beyond football, we have had numerous issues in other sports. Michigan hockey facing scrutiny during the Mel Pearson era when he was the Head Coach. You had allegations about program culture and creating a toxic work environment for women who worked with the team. You had Pearson apparently pressuring hockey players to lie about their Covid status as well. Warde's response appeared slow, opaque, and reactive. Michigan basketball, under Warde Manuel and Juwan Howard, dealt with numerous incidents as well. Juwan Howard, the alleged leader of young men on the court, got into an altercation and threw punches at another Head Coach. He should have been fired after doing that, but Warde let him skate. He screamed at and had altercations with basketball staff and little was done there. Warde has shown a consistent pattern of weakness, fecklessness, minimal visibility, and an inability to change the culture of Michigan Athletics. To borrow a line from Brady Hoke: "This is Michigan!" Michigan should be too significant and too proud of an institution to be dragged down by a "leader" who doesn't improve the culture, nor hold people accountable. When your AD shrinks when the moment demands real leadership, time and again, it's a problem with him personally. For the stability, credibility, and to make any sustained cultural changes within Michigan's Athletic Department, it’s time to move on from Warde. The University and feckless UofM Regents need to buck up and bring in an athletic director who can provide the leadership necessary to change the culture and succeed on the field. Get Warde out of town now, otherwise nothing else matters and nothing else will change. Edited 20 hours ago by Mr.TaterSalad 1 Quote
RatkoVarda Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago if he has known since September (may or may not be true?) Manuel is toast, no? either they figured out what was going on and covered it up - fired or they figured out what was going on and ignored it - fired or they could not, gee golly, figure out if this was all true or not - fired best move is to make a giant bonfire now, and not have this continue for another 18 months Quote

Of course we all know that things aren't equal, but I watch hearings with Judge Simpson EVERY SINGLE DAY. If this is an Arraignment, it will be quick and it's highly doubtful that Moore will say a word, which is an excellent strategy that only a few defendants pursue. Quote

But she ain't innocent in this either. She knew he was married. She took that money. Sure, she is on the low end of the power dynamic, but she was also consenting. If she said no at the start, well she wouldn't be in this position (it would have been someone else, Coach was a chaser). She's gonna get a nice big pay day and I hope Sherrone's wife turns around and sues her. 2 things: alienation of affection has not been a civil remedy in Michigan for decades, so wife has no case this is an insanely ungracious position to take. if Moore kicking in her door, threatening her, and holding a knife to her throat is any indication of their relationship, then I think she deserves a little more compassion Quote

The one time I watched an arraignment in Ann Arbor, it was broadcast live in the lobby of the courthouse. It was not something available on YouTube. Simpson in Ann Arbor and Middleton on the west side of the state are the exceptions, not the rule, as far as broadcasting everything publicly for the world to see on YouTube. Quote

Deleterious Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago I don't think Garcia meant broadcast on Youtube. I think he meant Moore would not be transported to the courthouse and the arraignment would just be done via video. Quote

If he had simply had an affair and no pregnancy or stalking had been involved, Michigan even could have found a way to keep him if they had wanted to. It still wasn't too late for Moore to save himself after the woman fessed up though - if Moore only had been fired, he would have found at least an OC job elsewhere as soon as next year. The arrest for serious domestic abuse reasons is what has ended his career and made Michigan look like they hired a psycho as coach. Quote

MichiganCardinal Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Washtenaw County is not treating this like any other case. Normally a prosecutor doesn't even appear for the arraignments, unless they're asking for no bond. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago With the order that he be placed on GPS tether before release, he may be stuck in jail until Monday. And I'm sure she'll get a sizable payout in a civil suit from the University and Moore personally. But she knew what she was doing. She knew Moore was married. She did it anyway. For years. I feel very little sympathy for her relative to Kelli and her young children. Quote
