Remember the Big12 before they got sold off for parts?  A lot of guys made a ton of money on bogus loans using the resources of the Big12 as collateral.   It couldn't be helped.  A lot of kids were taking college on line and AI rendered the football programs irrelevant.

but again, that's going to be up to Warde's replacement to fix (as it's looking more and more like his days are numbered.) How much does the coach have to worry about that as long the House & NIL money management is in place. And I tend to think the money management end is probably the part Manuel was has running well, which may be why they've kept him through so many other issues.

fundraising, hiring the football and men's basketball coaches are the main duties of any modern AD at a big school.  warde has done 1 1/2 of those things well.  gice him credit for dusty but demerits for how he handled juwan.

lack of judgment.

maybe its because ive seen this **** as a lawyer, maybe its because i'm old, maybe it's because i'm just an apologist, but people making stupid mistakes and thinking with their little head and not their big head is part of the human condition.  it happens.

again, its fireable and he should be fired.  stalking is a crime and he should face the law for that.  breaking your wedding vows is a moral question (we dont really know about his personal life or his marriage) but IM'ing beautiful people is not a sign of mental illness.  bad judgment for sure.

The crazy part is how he went off the deep end. If he goes home and locks himself in the bathroom for 24hrs he's still probably got a bright career in front of him. As someone (maybe you?) noted upstream, the guy is 40 yrs old but he reacted like a teenager. People are strange.

Mental illness.     But please, don't have anyone in the room from HR or Mental Health Services when you fire him.  It'll all be fine.

Am I to understand this is the timeline

- Monday morning she breaks up with him

- He (on Monday) fires her

- She (on Monday or Tuesday) goes to the school blows it all up

- Then he's fired

- Then all hell breaks loose.

I just can't believe this week.  Never have seen anything like this.     Nobody has.

there is a bit of Monday morning QB'ing  going on. Having staff in the room  wasn't going to be make a difference to what happened that night and Moore probably had privacy rights in that discussion with Manuel that he'd have had to be asked to waive.  To have made a difference you would have needed someone tethered to him for 24 hrs when he left the site and you can't do that without consent either.

the idea that his "mental illness" necessitated someone being in the room with him when he was fired is ridiculous.  you usually have an HR rep in the room - or, in today's world, on the zoom call - to make sure the proper message is put in place and nothing out of bounds is said.  they are there to protect the organization, not the person who is being let go.

then security walks them out to make sure there isnt any trouble.  again, not for his mental health but to protect the organization and its employees from any actions.  once he is out the door, he is responsible for his actions, not his former employer.

happens all the time.  the fact that it apparently didnt happen here is curious.  could be another sign of disorganization by the athletic department or lack of a modern HR department overseeing the football program or athletic department.

I'd guess it didn't happen because it came down to a session between two ex-Olinemen and in that ethos, no-one else is invited.
