This will be the day that I will always remember, the day that I realized that AI was deliberately distorting baseball stats, just to f*ck with us.

On my iPhone, I asked a question about why the Japanese baseball season was shorter than the American season and this is what Google AI told me:

“Japanese baseball seasons are shorter than American (MLB) seasons primarily because they have fewer games…”

At least they didn’t charge me for this sterling insight.

So I did it. I waited for the “Mother’s Day“ sale or whatever the heck it is to get mlb.tv for half price. $69.99 now let’s watch the team go into a nose dive and make me regret it. In all honesty I don’t think that’s going to happen.

And I don’t think the team will go into a nose dive because I don’t think the world revolves around my random actions, although if the skies part and the sun shines, and tonight‘s game is not rained out, I might begin to think that it does. If that’s the case, I’ll be like Ren in Ren and Stimpy and pray for $1 million as well as huge pectoral muscles.

Chafin just pitched an inning for the Nats against Cleveland. He struggled but finished the inning without giving up a run. The Tigers are a better team without him. Nibbling at the strike zone, taking forever to throw a pitch and pretty wild. I'm happy with our BP.

Watching the Nationals blow a 4 run lead in the 7th inning reminds me of the Tigers a few years back. Their pitchers can't throw strikes and fall behind every hitter.

Nationals came back and beat Cleveland in the 1st game of a DH. 10-9. Cleveland stinks!

I bought it yesterday too. And I followed your advice and waited. The $69.99 for the entire season is a really, really good deal. I'm watching JV against the Cubbies tonight

I’d much rather have all the guys we have up now, plus Foley, Brebbia and Owens over Chafin.  Add SGL too.

Agreed. I like Chafins personality but he doesn't throw enough strikes anymore. Our pitchers pound the strike zone, mostly. The bar is high.
