IdahoBert Posted October 14 Posted October 14 I can’t imagine the Tigers going to Toronto and playing this well. I wish I could, but I can’t. And I don’t think we can write this off for the Mariners as “just baseball.“ I think they might actually be pretty good and rising to the occasion when it matters. Granted our team almost had them on the ropes, but couldn’t close the deal. 1 Quote
oblong Posted October 14 Posted October 14 A Wild play just now in Milwaukee. “They’re going to review all of it”. Bases loaded one out. A near HR bounces off he wall, but into the glove, no catch. They throw the guy out at the plate on the force. Then they throw the runner out trying to advance to 3B. 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Holy moly that possible seeming Dodger grand slam that became a double play after review is totally mind blowing. Wow! Quote
IdahoBert Posted October 14 Posted October 14 TNT actually has a visible strike zone box too which is something that Fox is not doing. Quote
IdahoBert Posted October 14 Posted October 14 I really like Christian Yelich. When I saw him playing with the Marlins years ago, I thought he looked 16 years old, and now he looks 24 even though he’s actually 33. Quote

GalagaGuy Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Birds Eye view of the play. Runner at third was watching the entire time and still screwed it up. 1 Quote

In all my years watching I'd never seen anything like that. Also, I hate the Dodgers Quote
guy incognito Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Anybody here ever been to a game in Milwaukee? It’s actually pretty nice for a giant carport. 1 Quote

We went to a couple of games 20 plus years ago when the stadium first opened. Loved it when the roof was open, but it did not feel claustrophobic with it closed. My son was in school at the time, we had a good time. 1 Quote
guy incognito Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Sounds about right. I went there to a roof-open game too which may have colored my impressions. I remember liking how nice and roomy the concourses were. lordstanley, I think there are some but they’re mostly confined to the western end (Ironwood, etc.). Quote
lordstanley Posted October 14 Posted October 14 (edited) Hope this picture of a sign on the marquee of a Vancouver strip club isn’t considered too risqué to post. If so, I apologize. Edited October 14 by lordstanley 1 Quote
oblong Posted October 14 Posted October 14 There’s video of Frelic asking Collins right after “what the **** just happened?” 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted October 14 Posted October 14 So a pretty good offense in the Brewers has only got one hit and eight innings. This seems painfully familiar. Quote

Also, I hate the Dodgers good on the umps for getting it all right in real time. What I can't figure out is what the runner on third was doing. He should have beaten a throw from 400' feet with a relay easily but for some reason he broke back to third after starting to come home on the tag then turned around again. No possible reason to do that. He has to tag on a catch and run on a hit. Total brain fart. Quote
lordstanley Posted October 14 Posted October 14 2-1 Dodgers, bottom of the 9th, 2 out, bases loaded Quote
IdahoBert Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Well, it was kind of interesting at the end. But I don’t really have any skin in the game. If the Mariners were to go to the World Series and take down the Dodgers, it would be pleasing in a distant sort of way. Whatever. Quote

I can enjoy the various ups and downs and twists and turns without worrying about the result. I can never entirely enjoy a playoff game involving the Tigers until it’s over, and only then if/when they’ve won it. Objectively speaking, Game 5 at Seattle, Game 162 in ‘09, etc. were all-time classics; I doubt l will ever watch either again, because all I’ll see is disappointment at what could have been. monkeytargets39 Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Didn’t see it mentioned anywhere: Apparently Emmanuel Claase will be banned from MLB for the gambling investigation Quote
IdahoBert Posted October 15 Posted October 15 First batter for the Brewers homers in game two. Jackson Chourio homers (2) on a fly ball to right center field. Quote
