IdahoBert Posted August 15 Posted August 15 What happened to Chase Lee? He was lights out for the Tigers until he really wasn’t in a really bad way. His stats in Toledo are horrendous. He’s also a very likable kid. It’s painful to see a collapse like this. Quote

Yeah, I wonder if a delivery like his places stress upon an arm that a more conventional delivery does not. Of course “conventional” deliveries now stress arms enough as it is. I haven’t seen that he’s on the DL though. Quote

With said this happens with EVERY organization. More so now than ever before. Unfortunately, it may continue for awhile. Clubs have to learn more about recovery science. IMHO, playing 162 games a year is too much. If extra innings were still going with no ghost runner at second to start - the number of pitching injuries would be greater still. Again, IMHO, to start with - Need maybe 28 man rosters (45 overall). Definitely less overall games. 5-6 day rest periods between starts. Look at the weight of the ball as compared to previous decades and more about recovery from workloads. I am sure there is more than that as well. Edited August 15 by alex Quote

Hinch was asked about that and his response was that he likes different arm slots with the bullpen. Chase's is more Kent Tekulve-esque Quote

Edman85 Posted August 16 Posted August 16 River Hamilton and Joey Wimpelberg to the full-season injured list... Quote Minor League Full-Season Injured List. No player may be placed on the Minor League Full-Season Injured List until the player has spent at least five days in a roster status. Players may only be placed on or transferred to the Minor League Full-Season Injured List during the Minor League season due to a significant injury that requires a major surgery or medical procedure that would typically keep a player out for an entire season (e.g., Tommy John Surgery). Placement on the Minor League Full-Season Injured List requires pre-approval from the Office of the Commissioner. The application for placement on the Minor League Full-Season Injured List shall be accompanied by a Standard Form of Diagnosis completed by the Major or Minor League Club physician. The Commissioner’s Office, in conjunction with the MLB Medical Director, will review and approve such applications. Players assigned to a domestic affiliate may be placed on the Minor League Full-Season Injured List beginning on the tenth day prior to the start of the AAA championship season. The minimum period of placement on the Minor League Full-Season Injured List shall be the remainder of the Minor League season, including any postseason games, unless otherwise approved by the Office of the Commissioner. Players appropriately placed on the Minor League Full-Season Injured List must remain on such list until the 5th day following the conclusion of the World Series. Quote
