Logic has no place in sports. I mean…. If you told me in 1998 about Chris Chelios? Quote

I wasn’t trying to tell you you’re wrong for your feelings, and I apologize for it coming off that way. I was trying to draw a parallel between situations in which players end up on teams that are trying to make your team lose. Edited 12 hours ago by chasfh 1 Quote

I was trying to draw a parallel between situations in which players end up on teams that are trying to make your team lose. FWIW, I think most people who are fans of players who leave the team they root for usually say something to the effect of: "I wish him/her well, at least when he/she isn't playing against my team." Obviously it's not quite that simple because even if the Astros and Verlander only had success when they weren't playing against the Tigers, them winning still made it harder for the Tigers to get to the playoffs, but the sentiment seems to be: "Hey, I like this guy and I'm sorry to see him go. I hope he has success -- as long as that success doesn't hurt my team." In the end team fandom trumps player fandom. Quote
