They maxed out the national TV games last season. The league is heavily promoting Detroit, last year and this season. Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted May 14 Posted May 14 So Lions fans are moping around over the first 6 games? This team went 15-2 last year. They weren't all that "lucky". They made their luck. They couldn't hide the injuries anymore in the playoff game. Even though they might not go 15-2 again this year, people thinking this team will have a losing record are silly to me. This is a great team. If you wanna be the best, you gotta beat the best. I still think they're 12-5 this year, maybe 13-4. As long as Goff stays healthy. If Goff does not, we'll see what they go. Plus we need a healthy Hutch all year. Man, do we need that. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Lions only have one outdoor game after Thanksgiving and that is against Chicago. Most of their tough road games are by October. End of schedule looks easier. Quote

There's sound logic there, at least looking at this from outside the organization. The Lions defense was obviously the issue last year and you're two biggest stars there are unproven right now. McNeill probably won't be starting the season and Hutch is a question mark whether he'll be 100%. Next it's a road game for the Lions, so GB gets some advantage there. Now add in that the Lions just lost both of their main coordinators and you'll expect that there will be at least some work figuring out how the new DC, and especially OC, want to run things. Add all that up and yeah... I'd probably lean towards the Pack having the slight advantage as well. From the Lions perspective this is great bulletin board material: Coaches to the players: "They don't respect you. They don't respect Dan Campbell. They think it was just AG and Ben who were running things here and make it all work. They think that now that those two are gone you're all going to fall apart." Quote

Sports_Freak Posted May 15 Author Posted May 15 This says the Lions opened as the 1.5 favorite in GB; https://www.prideofdetroit.com/2025/5/14/24429402/detroit-lions-favorites-season-opener-packers-week-1-gambling-odds-2025 Quote
RedRamage Posted May 15 Posted May 15 https://www.detroitlions.com/video/2025-lions-schedule-release Interesting... as someone not from Detroit I didn't recognize all the places, but cool to see some landmarks of Detroit that I did know. I do think they missed out on an opportunity though... they should have had the Bengal/Lions game in front of Comerica Park. Quote

Or Week 8, Bye (October 26) could have shown inside of Comerica Park to represent all of us taking a Lions break to watch the Tigers in the World Series. Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted May 15 Posted May 15 At the Chiefs, Commanders, Eagles, and Ravens is brutal. We could go anything from 3-1 to 0-4 in those games. I don't see us running the table and winning or losing all 4 of those tough road games, but I do think that's more likely than sweeping them all. Each of those games is on the road, against what are supposed to be very good teams with really good QBs. Obviously, those teams and their QBs could underperform or get injured, but as of now, they are tough games. We did not play a lot of really good QBs last season compared to our schedule this year. I do worry about that given that we have a new DC in place. Let's see how these teams actually end up and how we stack up against the top QBs when our defense is fully healthy with a new DC leading the way. Quote

Jason_R Posted May 15 Posted May 15 4-3 at the bye, 12-5 overall. Offense probably won't average 33 points a game again, but the defense will be improved this year at every level. Quote
