papalawrence Posted May 15 Posted May 15 So much fun. Since last August this has been a great ride. And it might continue for several years Quote
Sports_Freak Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I saw a stat last year about leadoff walks scoring. It was a crazy high amount...somewhere near 65% of leadoff walks score. Quote
Tigermojo Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Hey Jeff Daniels, Tiger fan, remember that time the Tigers swept the Red Sox? You remember that? 2 Quote

Searching it and either it was a small sample size or an isolated number outlier. The closest I can find is about 37% of the time, a leadoff walk scores. Quote

IdahoBert Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I haven’t had the TV package for long so my question is when did the baby powder thing begin? Quote

Arlington Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I am loving this. Riley's D, sending Ibanez, Torrez' grab to end the inning. Guardians losing. When will the Power Rankings show the Tigers as Number 1. What do they have to do aside from having the best record in baseball. Quote

I've seen a 2nd OF complete a catch maybe a couple of times, but never a play at the wall like like that. It's usually more mundane - two guys are coming toward each other around mid-depth and the guy that called for it botches the play but tips it up to where the guy that is ducking under/away manages to grab it before it lands. holygoat Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Mets lose, so the Tigers lead the majors by themselves now. 1 Quote

Sports_Freak Posted May 15 Posted May 15 The BP really needs the off day to reset. Like I said, winning masks the ugly. Blowing leads in back to back games is a horrible sign that shouldn't be ignored just because we won. Last night, a late 2 run HR to tie it and then a 2 run HR in extra innings. Tonight, multiple hits off of Holton to tie the game. It's not sustainable. Quote
papalawrence Posted May 15 Posted May 15 The Twins have won 10 straight and barely gained any ground Quote
holygoat Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Bullpens have ups and downs just like any other part of a team. They weren't going to go the entire season without blowing a couple or three games in a row. It happens to every team. 1 Quote

Yeah, I read the hit % was close but a bit less. I'm sure neither stat is static, it must move a little bit in either direction. And sometimes, when they show or tell a stat on TV, they're wrong.
