Batting for Jake with a different RH hitter sends a direct message to Jake.

And that message is, clock is ticking on your career.

Ordinarily, I would be OK splitting a series on the road, but against this opponent three wins certainly seemed more than possible. But they’re a better club than their record indicates and the Tigers didn’t play as well as they could have. Each team pretty much got what they deserved out of this series.

So, his supposed effect on the pitching staff no longer has value?

He is an excellent defensive catcher and he'll have his spot. But I also think he can expect to step aside for a pinch hitter later in games due to his offense.

It appears that all our chasers lost yesterday.  The Daleks can pound sand.

Well, KC split their DH with St Louis, so they gained a half a game on us, but otherwise, yes.

It won’t if he continues to hit around .118.

Dingler's defensive game is pretty good...and he's miles better offensively than Rogers.  At least so far this season...

Dingler’s defnese is top notch. He’s a superior options in all facets right now.

The Achilles Heel I see for Dingler is his propensity to chase. It’s costing him strikes in the zone. I think pitchers are challenging him now, but as much as he crushes balls in the zone, he’s dead in the water on decent breaking stuff. Once the league wakes up to him and figures out how to attack him, then we’ll see how quickly he can adapt to make himself a very good #1 for the long term.

Certainly, but it's only 38 PA and he currently has the lowest K rate of his career.
