holygoat Posted June 7 Posted June 7 Carp making a leaping run saving catch to preserve the lead was not on my bingo card. Quote
IdahoBert Posted June 7 Posted June 7 I want four runs in this bottom of the 8th for obvious reasons. Quote

Not trying to take anything away from Carp because it was a great catch for him. I’m just saying a good fielder would have tracked the ball a little better and not have to fully extend to catch the ball. 1 Quote
Sports_Freak Posted June 7 Posted June 7 Carp saves the game and gets pinch hit for. Sometimes Hinch pushes all the right buttons. Quote

I was going to ask whether Carp played that an angle on purpose instead of getting right under it for a straight jump up. Quote

I was thinking the same thing when I watched the replay - he underestimated the fade toward the line. But on other hand, it may have been a little easier to get the elevation off a run than if he was there and had to jump more flat footed, so it all worked in the end! Quote
lordstanley Posted June 7 Posted June 7 This guy is going to keep the ball, as he should. Not give it away to the nearest kid, as he needn’t. Quote
