The Tigers have been turning mediocre into good for a year now. I'm going to trust they know what they are doing until they prove otherwise. I'm fine with the moves or lack of moves. This team has what it takes to win already.

Then you understand it's not just our side's fault when the trade you imagine doesn't happen.

i know that we could have easily match or top what the Yankees gave up  without touching the top guys or Harris loves to collect prospects

And that makes it a good trade or good value?

what good is having a good system if you dont use it? i guess DD is a  horrible GM or POBO ...

Like I said, a matter of style. I prefer Harris, but have no issue or problem with the DD’s, Prellers or Dipotos of the baseball world.

Just because it’s Black Friday or Prime Day doesn’t mean you have to go shopping.

sure...but if your not getting better every day your falling behind especially today ..not sure how a shopping applies to sports .. if step dad buys you a porsche and your dad gets you a Yugo

Cashman hasn't won a World Series in sixteen years, and in fact won his first pennant in fifteen years only last year. So, looks to me like he's lost his touch somewhat. But I will grant you, he knows how to make news with trades.

I also agree that you and I don't know what happened, so blaming Scott Harris alone for not making trades like Brian Cashman doesn't seem right to me.

Scott Harris does not make trades like Brian Cashman because he has a different pool of talent to trade from, as well as a different set of objectives serving the goals of winning this year and competing for the next several years. But as someone who's not stupid and understands how trades work, you already know that.

Prospects often don’t work out, but neither do trades or free agent signings, and there are few things in sports more volatile than a bullpen piece. Harris prefers to address it with volume. Is he wrong? It worked last year.

I don't get the criticism here. Not counting Dobnak (that was a pure salary dump to balance the trade), the Tigers have added five pitchers to the mix. When your depth is ravaged*, that's a good thing. I much prefer that to putting all your eggs in one basket.

And we are criticizing them for not giving up enough? I'm trying to figure that one out.

and you aren't building a minor league system primarily to win AA titles or as bargaining chip stock, you are building it to supply a pipeline of players to keep your team stocked with talent so that buying over-priced and usually over-the-hill FAs are not your only avenue to winning seasons.

Im questioning his goal is that allowed ... he can make a great farm system but he seems to be unable to part with any of them

This idea that everything will click into place again like this year is the what the Orioles were thinking.   Look where they are now.   When you have it in front of you and it's as seemingly close as it is to them now - you go for it now.     You make the bold moves now.   Not just because we're bored as fans, but because there is no guarantee that you will be anywhere close to this position again in 2026 or whatever baseball looks like after the 2027 lockout.

I just think they need a bat sorry that last two weeks shows me that they are very streaky
