IdahoBert Posted Thursday at 01:09 PM Posted Thursday at 01:09 PM I asked Google AI about the possibility of playing baseball at Ford Field - because of the rain thing and the tornadoes - and this is babble it gave me: [NB ~ I’m glad the major league soccer team decided against “retrofitting“ Ford Field with a retractable roof. That was a very wise idea on their part] AI Overview While Ford Field in Detroit is primarily an indoor football stadium its design could potentially accommodate a baseball game. However, it would require significant modifications and likely wouldn't be a typical baseball field layout. For example, a proposed Major League Soccer expansion team considered playing at Ford Field but decided against retrofitting it with a retractable roof. This suggests that substantial changes would be needed to make it suitable for a different sport like baseball. Additionally, Ford Field's layout incorporates a former warehouse, which influences the placement of suites and seating, and it's unclear how these unique features would adapt to baseball field dimensions. oblong Posted Thursday at 01:10 PM Posted Thursday at 01:10 PM We shouldn't have games before May 1 beause it's too cold, we shouldn't have games between June 15 and Aug 25 b/c it's too hot and potential for storms all the time, and the world series runs into late October and it's too cold for that. New proposal. 2 mini seasons of 40 games each between May 1-Jun 15 and Aug 20 and Oct 3. Each winner plays in a 7 game WS from Oct 6-15. No divisions. No leagues. If one team wins both halves then we don't need a world series and can move on to the other sports. 1 Quote

Knock down Fenway and Wrigley, with climate change, humans need to adapt. Quote

Sports_Freak Posted Thursday at 05:06 PM Posted Thursday at 05:06 PM Fanduel Sports had a good interview of Donnie Kelly. He talked about Leyland hitting him 2nd in a lineup in New York (Kelly hit a home run.) I remember saying the same thing Kelly did in the interview..."what was Leyland thinking, hitting Don Kelly 2nd?" 😅 I have a hard time rooting against former Tigers who i admire. While Kelly wasn't a regular, he was a valuable part of those Leyland teams. Donnie Baseball always came ready to play! Quote
