Winning this game would be huge. There’s no way the Tigers could be considered the favorites for this game. Perhaps statistically they are due for some “pulling rabbits out of hats“ types of victories to make up for that bad string of 13 games.

Somehow I picture quiet baseball analysts more as the murderer than the murder solvers. I bet Dexter pored over box scores and advance stats in his free time away from the police lab, when he wasn’t stabbing.

On Facebook I jokingly quoted the guy that said this in the movie Office Space and I was sternly warned and threatened with apermanent ban if there was another “infraction.” For two weeks whenever I logged into my account I was reminded of what an uncivil and violent person I allegedly am.

AI is not intelligent. It doesn’t understand humor, or context or irony. And Zuckerberg is claiming that he’s going to build an AI center as big as Manhattan to develop this “intelligence.“

What cracks me up is that it doesn't even have a good handle on what should be its own area of knowledge.

My latest go around with AI was over a 2020 intel mac book air the SO has. If you ask AI "Will my 10th gen Intel Mac run Tahoe" it will say "Yes" If you ask it if your 2020 Macbook Air it will say "no" (the correct answer). I would say that on IT and computer tech questions I have searched in the last month - it bats just about 50%. Even 80% is too unreliable to be of any serious use. They've got a long way to go.

He's been slightly better the last couple of days - he managed three consecutive games without a K before wiffing once yesterday. What's looking really alarming though is he has exactly 1 walk in his last 88 PA. Riley has never walked all that much, but at 1% over nearly a month, there is definitely something amiss in his approach.

The Phillies have quite the trio in Saurez, Wheeler and Sanchez. All with ERA's under 2.70 and Wheeler leads the NL in WHIP. Tiger's had to face all three.

And they now have a very good closer. They may be a favorite to make it out of the NL to the WS. Playing in Philly sure is tough. Those crowds are kinda rough when they get going.

I didn’t realize it was that bad. He’s starting to feel all or nothing.

I wish this were a normal game with a normal start time instead of a marquee Sunday night ESPN game. Waiting another four hours bugs me.

So the three teams to care about - Guardians, Jays and Astros - all lose, so good day so far. And the Yankees also lost which means their record in the past 45 games is 17-28!

Yeah me too. For me, the waiting isn’t so much the irritant as much as just that Sunday afternoon Tiger games have always been part of the rhythm of summer for me.

i guess it’s a small price to pay for having a noteworthy team.
