kdog Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I'm looking at the walk rate. They aren't getting on base enough and are striking out too. Last 30 days they are last in mlb in walk rate. 1 Quote

oblong Posted August 8 Posted August 8 man, for all my bitching over the years for being stuck with games started by the likes of Mike Pelfrey and Jordan Zimmeman, etc.... this is like my 5th Skoob start this season. 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted August 8 Posted August 8 My magic carpet isn’t flying as well as it used to. I don’t feel a lot of enthusiasm for this team right now, but it’ll probably come back. Quote
HeyAbbott Posted August 8 Posted August 8 The last loss to Minny took the wind out of my sails. We just need everyone to do what they can do Quote

We just need everyone to do what they can do Yes, April-June was the honeymoon period, all bliss. For a few weeks in July cracks started to appear in the relationship but you worked through it and reconciled and were confident of smooth sailing up ahead. Instead, they woke up in a foul mood on Tuesday and tossed a frying pan of scrambled eggs at you while you were just trying to read the paper and sip a coffee. Quote
kdog Posted August 8 Posted August 8 This is the grind part of the season...everyone is tired and the bad teams have more energy because they have no downside. The Tigers have stakes and are probably tightening up. Quote

We just need everyone to do what they can do I had to stop watching because I was so disgusted by the lack of getting quality arms at the deadline. Look, we get it, all future Tiger free agents will be walking so Harris can't trade our top prospects. Don't worry about being in or winning a World Series in 2025, we need those prospects to help us win some games in 2027 and on. And Riley? Yes, hes still a young player. But his slumps last 6 weeks and then he gets hot for 2 weeks or so. But Hinch would never hit him lower, go ahead and hit him 3rd to 5th every game and watch him strikeout 3 times a game. So yeah, I'll watch Skubal tonight. But...Go Lions!! Quote
romad1 Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Try to enjoy the baseball. You can't control any of it from your couch. The Curtis Granderson sherzy you don't feel confident wearing after the 2013 debacle against Boston isn't the reason they struggle. 1 Quote

IdahoBert Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Riley moved down to sixth in the batting order so whoever complained about him batting higher, give them a medal. [EDIT] It was @Sports_Freak 1 Quote

[EDIT] It was @Sports_Freak TBH, I would rather see Riley getting 3 hits a game and hitting 3rd. But he needs to make some serious adjustment. Learn to shorten up that swing with 2 strikes and....just put the ball in play. His struggles just last way too long... Quote
IdahoBert Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I took a nap and I’m in a better mood now and will probably at least start watching this game, but if Skubal gives up a first inning home run I’m outta here, finished, cooked, over, exhausted, tired, drained, spent, worn out, beat, wearied, frazzled, wiped out, fatigued, bushed, burnt-out, broken down, and neither thrifty, brave, clean, nor reverent. Grrr… Quote
lordstanley Posted August 8 Posted August 8 30 minutes ago, kdog said: That's a load off his mind for Skubal. Now he knows that as long as can he give the Tigers a good 6 innings, Heuer is here to lock it down the rest of the way. Quote
