Using SGL for a full pass through the order after a hard thrower is good pitcher change of pace sequencing.

So 10-6, .625 ball, for the 16 games (1/10th of the season) since the 1-12 horror stretch. Given what for the most part has been a sub-.500 level of competition, it still feels more like treading water than a surge forward. But beats sinking.

They also miss having at least one disruptive base runner. At various times that has been Baddoo or Meadows but with them both out of the picture our base running - while great 1st to 3rd,  isn't putting much pressure on any pitchers.

The Tigers scored only nine runs in this three game series on the road against the White Sox. Hope they can get back to their scoring ways in Minnesota.

Seattle has to be watched now. They acquired talent at the deadline and have a deep line-up and good pitching. And Toronto is currently ahead of us.

My bigger fear is the last 6 games of the season.  Tigers could be on the road facing two teams that have to win to lock up a playoff spot.

Or at least playing for playoff position. Hopefully, Cleveland will be eliminated by the time we play the 3 games in Cleveland, 2nd to last series of the season.

Am watching Mariners-Orioles. I don't think I've ever heard an Australian accent in the broadcast booth before. It belongs to former Mariners pitcher Ryan Rowland-Smith who is their regular color guy this season.

If there’s anyone for whom the numbers tell you to pull after the second time through the order, it's Jack Flaherty v. 2024-25. Maybe if there’s someone you have to skip a game when the bullpen is fresh, it’s Flaherty and not Skubal.
