40 yard dash times

Mahomes - 4.80

Stafford - 4.81

Goff - 4.82

Ain't no damn reason for Goff to be as much of a statue as he is.

But Goffs problem isn't straight line speed, it's manueverability. 🦛

Eagles about to lose. Do Lion fans have to worry about Dallas?

So I left the house to them in control. Didn’t even check the score. This news makes me happy.

It's not even about being able to avoid people, it's his inability to do any moving at all.  Watching the Rams last night, Stafford had designed roll outs a bunch of times and there were others that he just moved to get away from oncoming pressure.   I'm not expecting Goff to have the ability to dodge and weave and make impossible throws like Mahomes, but is it really too much to ask that he be able to roll out?

yeah - planned roll outs should not be that hard. Either they aren't in the play book, Goff just doesn't like to do it, or the thought is that with the turnover on the 0-line and TE it's an added level of complexity they think might lead to more breakdowns.

There was at least one roll out I recall where he hit Brock Wright on the sideline.

Yes, that’s right. I was struck watching the Rams last night how big of a part that was of their offense. I didn’t watch even half of the game but saw four or five designed rollouts. I think one was unsuccessful but the others went for pretty good gains. Since the OL is not giving Goff the time he had in the pocket last season, it struck me this could be a way to take some pressure off, and maybe to get some players other than Gibbs and ASB involved in the offense.

I seem to recall the Rams did a lot of designed rollouts with Goff. That seems to be a part of the McVay offense.

The J.J. McCarthy thing

So, he's already a complete bust?

Well, a few thoughts....

He was never that great a QB in college and Minnesota over reached -- by a lot.    McCarthy managed a very good offense at Michigan, with a great line and a lot of weapons, but I don't think of him as a slam-dunk star QB.   Elvis Grbac and Chad Henner were better than McCartly.

It's his rookie season. You don't take a 14-3 team and put it in the hands of a rookie QB.

The Vikings are being foolish here.

C.J. Stroud and Jayden Daniels are unicorns.  It's foolish to start a rookie if you're not a rebuilding team.     There is so much to learn in the NFL.  Teams need to let guys develop.

And it's also foolish to have Carson Wentz as your only other option.    They would have been better off reacquiring Cousins.

Now, I don't mind seeing this with a division rival, but I feel like they put him in this position by drafting him way too high.

Hendon Hooker is still out there.    So is Tim Boyle, right?

Carolina because the 49er ruined our Cinderella story.

Yeah, it's really easy to hate them after that. And it's hard to imagine fewer than two teams getting in the playoffs from NFC West, I certainly don't want to see a third.
