I like the Saints CB Alonte Taylor but Tennessee paying him $20M a year is way too high.   I’m not a fan of Giants CB Cordale Flott and the Titans just signed him too for $15M a season.  A lot of money for 2 players that bad teams elected to not sign as part of their future.    Shouldn’t be surprised with the franchise that let Mike Vrable walk.

You can create nearly $90 million in cap space with the contract restructures. So you can indeed afford it. It is just a questions of choice and do you want to afford it. It is also a question of who don't you resign if you make a splash move like that.

No you can’t. That isn’t free money. You’re just pushing it out a couple more years. There’s a reason no team in the league has $90 million in annual salary to pass rushers.

Falcons sign Tua.   Did they do it mostly because he's left-handed?      1.3 million is a good deal for someone who could still show something or could end his career with one hit.   

 

But some of these contracts are crazy.   I know we all wanted Mandelbaum Manbdelbaum Mandelbaum but the Raiders lost they damm minds with that deal.       Lions get serviceable and affordable O-Linemen.    Solid, but not great players.   There's always the draft.

I wanted Kwity Paye but not at $16 mill AAV?

WTF? He ain't worth that much. Maybe half that at best as a run-stopping DE that doesn't generate a whole lot of pass-rush but can walk into a few sacks... I wanted him as a placeholder for Faulk or Zion Young and as a quality depth guy...

But $16 mill AAV? Yeesh!!!

they did it because theyre the falcons.  theyre a bad organization.  signing a guy who is one tap on the head from being out of the league, and who isnt that good even when/if he's healthy.

Wondering if they are trying to buy a bunch of lottery tickets to in the hopes they can flip few for draft picks in the next couple years. They are going to be bad and have salary cap. Might as well.

you dont build a team on free agents.

the best thing the raiders did this offseason was deal crosby for two first round picks.  that should be the foundation of your team moving forward.

Plus the Raiders have the #1 pick this year and will get a QB. I could come around to the Raiders overpaying for Linderbaum. A young QB to pair with a veteran Center.
