Going into the bye at 5-2. Tied for second in NFC conference standings. Leading NFC and second in NFL in point differential. Getting healthy at the right time. All good.

With this win Dan Campbell is now 44-30-1 as Lions head coach. He has sole possession of 5th place in total wins by Lions head coaches.

Based on winning percentage he's now 4th all time among Lions HCs:

5-2 at the bye is about as good as could be expected at the start of the year, as there looked to be 5 tough games - at Packers, at Ravens, at Bengals, at Chiefs, Bucs. Turned out to be 4 tough opponents (I still count Baltimore but not the Bengals) and the Lions split those and won the other three. Fine. Plus the 10-game schedule going forward has some tough games in it but doesn’t look as overly brutal as the 17 games did as a whole going in. I will be very confident going into every game except at Philly and at Rams and even those two are by no means write offs.

The Packers seem to be emerging as the team the Lions will need to best to make it three straight in the North. Can't ignore the Vikings or Bears, but I think it's the Lions and Packers at 1 and 2. The Packers hold a half game lead thanks to their sister kisser in Dallas.

Packers have Steelers, Panthers, Eagles, Giants, and Vikings before they come to Detroit on Thanksgiving. Lions have Vikings, Commanders, Eagles, and Giants.

Hard to see the Packers doing any worse than 3-2 in that stretch, 4-1 might be more likely. The Steelers are worse than their record indicates, though maybe Rodgers will play out of his mind. Panthers and Giants are pesky, but not good. The Vikings are clearly not the same team that went 14-3 last year.

Lions will need to go 3-1 to hold serve if so. They are better than the Vikings, Commanders, and Giants, and should win each of those games. The Eagles won't be easy, but it may be important. And the rematch on Thanksgiving will be massive.

Not out of the question that MCDC is in sole possession of #2 on that list by the end of the season. Certainly by early next season, and by the end of next season he may take over for Rasputin.

Yes, confident. These teams are now saying they have to play Detroit instead if they get to play Detroit.

Does he still have to go through waivers? What's to say someone else can't snap him up? And if he is good, what's to say the league doesn't demand he go to the Chiefs since they clearly want them to win another Super Bowl and not us or anyone else lol.

He already cleared waivers. The Lions have him an injury settlement after he cleared. He’s free to see with another team but the Lions likely have a handshake agreement to sign him.

Hopefully just depth and not an indication on Reed’s progress.

Or that they believe Terrion Arnold stinks and they're already migrating him into the Jeff Okudah camp of player.

They definitely don't believe that.  The stats have been posted a number of times, but prior to the Tampa game, the Lions go from a top 1-3 defense when Arnold is in the game to a bottom 5 when he is out.  (I'm sure the Tampa game improved the numbers for when he is out.)

I saw this but I'm not sure if I ever heard of Daniel Thomas. A safety? Hmmmmm...

Thomas was signed from Jacksonville. He was signed after he didn’t make the Jaguars roster. He’s mostly a special teams ace.

Lions released Fuller from the practice squad per Pride of Detroit.

This is why the Legion of Whom and others play their arses off for this team. I have no idea if Fuller still has something to contribute, he certainly has name recognition and they disconnect from him in favor of Whiteside, Maulet, Strickland, Hallet, Harper…put up effort and you will see playing time.
