I acknowledged upfront that I might be on an island with this one. We all know how forums work—we bring up all kinds of important and unimportant things. Yeah, having Dan Dickerson filling in is a good deal. If Jason decides to do Tiger games full time, I'm fine with it. I just hope that if he ever does leave, we get somebody better than Shep. I really didn't like his approach. Jason cracks me up at least once a game, he's very quick witted. Quote
Edman85 Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Would be nice if Cleveland has to burn Gavin Williams tomorrow... Quote

Sports_Freak Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Cleveland is gonna punch their playoff ticket with a walkoff. Very dramatic. 1 Quote

Screwball Posted September 28 Posted September 28 1 hour ago, Hongbit said: So if Cleveland loses tonight, the decision is start Skubal tomorrow and hope to win division and host a 3 game series but he would then only pitch game 3 on short rest and may not even get a chance at all. Option two is pitch whoever and start Skubal on extra rest in Game 1 even if it’s on the road. This is not even a choice. There’s only one move . This is correct and it shouldn't even be a question. They play on a field, with a ball, bats, gloves. You still must pitch, catch, and throw the ball. Doesn't matter where it is. And has been said on this very site a gazillion times over the years; in a short series/playoffs anything can happen. For the wanting the bye crowd. Rather not. No live pitching for a few days might **** you up. On the other hand, the Tigers need the practice. 🙂 1 Quote
lordstanley Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Guardians 90ft away from the playoffs and a share of the Central lead again. Quote
lordstanley Posted September 28 Posted September 28 lol, a walkoff hit by the pitch. After an IBB to load the bases the batter before that. 1 Quote
Sports_Freak Posted September 28 Posted September 28 And that's why Texas players are making vacation plans. Quote

Hongbit Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Tough time to hit your first batter of your career. Even tougher way for Bochy to lose maybe his last game ever. He didn’t need to walk the bases loaded with 2 out but got overly cautious and made a managerial decision that ended the game. Quote

IdahoBert Posted September 28 Posted September 28 I was just cursing the fact that this game with the Red Sox Sunday is inexplicably at around 3 PM Eastern time and then I remembered they do this every year for the last game of the season and that all the games begin roughly within 5 to 10 minutes of each other. Klondike Posted September 28 Posted September 28 No extra base hits in a Fenway Park game. That is rare. Quote

I acknowledged upfront that I might be on an island with this one. We all know how forums work—we bring up all kinds of important and unimportant things. I’m on this island with you, brother. I think it sucks that he chooses to do ****ty college football games and whatnot during the September overlap period. These football guys are mostly independent contractors from what I understand so he doesn’t have to do it. I like him as an announcer and I’m happy to have him calling our games, and I’m also happy that we get Dan on the days Jason is off calling a game that appeals to alumni only. But I don’t think any other relevant team has a main announcer that isn’t around for games during a playoff push. I do remember last year for the clinch he found a replacement for the ****ty college game he was calling so that he could be on the mic for the tigers that weekend. It was understandable that he didn’t think there would be meaningful baseball played by the tigers in September 2024. No excuse for this year, though. 1 Quote
