Weather conditions were bad for throwing the ball, as, obviously, were the conditions of the IOL. The team will get healthier and should have its full complement of players going into the playoffs. Right now they are out of the playoffs. With loses to Minnesota and KC. Are we sure they are a playoff team? Quote

chasfh Posted Monday at 03:46 PM Posted Monday at 03:46 PM So much for Dan Campbell, sooper genius. Quote
Hongbit Posted Monday at 04:41 PM Posted Monday at 04:41 PM I know this is crazy to say today but I’ve never felt this good about the defense in the Campbell era. This is without 4 starters. They have one major problem to fix. Interior OL. They have to figure out how to play better. The entire offense is built around a solid line. Goff with a little protection is lethal for a defense. Goff under pressure is lethal for us. If they can fix it, there’s a big playoff run and maybe even a Super Bowl. If they can’t, think about the worst parts of a TP gameday post. 1 Quote
Sports_Freak Posted Monday at 04:54 PM Posted Monday at 04:54 PM Watching that DPI video to end the game, I agree, the Lions probably wouldn't have scored. But that doesn't change the fact that the refs totally blew another call. No way was that defensive pass interference. These refs should be fined or fired for totally blowing calls like this. Next time it could just as easily be earlier in the game. Quote
Shinzaki Posted Monday at 06:23 PM Posted Monday at 06:23 PM Horrible call to end the game..and yes the flow of the game suggests we would not have scored. But...we have two players in Williams and Gibbs who have the speed to score from literally anywhere on the field. It sucks that they were deprived of that chance. Tough to believe that the absolute strength of the team...the OL...has become the Achilles heel, but after losing 2 All Pro caliber IOL and having your two tackles dinged up...I guess I shouldn't be surprised Quote

lordstanley Posted Monday at 08:15 PM Posted Monday at 08:15 PM Going for it on 4th downs makes (made) a lot of sense when a) you have a shaky FG kicker; b) a stellar offensive line; and/or c) it's 1 yd or less so you can just QB sneak or tush push it. a) was the case in 2023 but not in 2024 and 2025 (although Bates may have taken a step back compared to last year). b) was the case in 2023 and 2024 but not so much in 2025. c) was only the case on the 1st of the five 4th down attempts last night, then it was 2,5,3,3. sagnam Posted Monday at 09:17 PM Posted Monday at 09:17 PM (edited) Ya-Sin is was more stoic than I would be in his shoes. I’d be telling anyone who would listen that the ref is clearly making prop bets. Lions’ Rock Ya-Sin on PI: A.J. Brown is an All-Pro, sometimes those players get the calls “A.J. Brown, really good player, All-Pro player, sometimes those kinds of players get those kinds of calls. It is what it is. I’ve got to do a better job,” Ya-Sin said. Asked if the officials gave him an explanation of why he was penalized, Ya-Sin answered, “I didn’t ask for one. I let them do their job, I try to do my job. It is what it is.” Edited Monday at 09:17 PM by sagnam Quote
Jason_R Posted Tuesday at 12:16 AM Posted Tuesday at 12:16 AM It was a disappointing offensive performance — the worst we’ve seen since the Baltimore debacle — but they gave up just 16 points to the defending champion on their home field. Again, it was a hell of a bad time to be without your starting guard and pro bowl TE. Now is time to get some reps for TeSlaa. He has ridiculous athletic ability but needs to earn trust from Goff. He could be another weapon in the postseason, which this team will make. Quote
