Bold Predictions

This is the annual bold predictions thread.  This is not a thread for projections or maybes or ifs or buts.  Say what you think will happen definitively from your gut.    

I'll start.  Kevin McGonigle will head north with the team as the starting shortstop, start off a little slow and then everything will click and he will be Rookie Of The Year.

Boring prediction: Tigers will go north with their 13 position players who have proven they are capable of producing 1+ WAR at the MLB level. Everyone else will be depth at Toledo for now. Quarter zips will be worn.

Might as well memorialize it here: Hao-Yu Lee will come north with the team.

Troy Melton will start the season in AAA but will be in the rotation by July 1 and will make it impossible for them to take him out.

I see the path for this.  I don’t think it’s out of the question at all, but I can see where a majority of folks don’t believe in that path.

Verlander finishes with a 5.34 era, spends most of the season on th IL and basically is Charlie Morton of 2026

Dingler turns in an awesome season with 25 dinglers.  

Parker Meadows is sent to AAA after 30 games.

Tork hits 40 homers but becomes a one trick pony with a .210 avg.

Framber valdez gets suspended for the season for performance enhancing drugs.

Fernando Rodney comes out of retirement to sign with the Tigers in June.

I actually have one from 20ish years ago. Including college, a near quarter century in the STEM world is detrimental on grammar.

As long as we’re making that kind of prediction at the moment, I predict that no matter what the team’s record is on August 1, whether we are 75-35, 35-75, or anything in between, nobody here will be happy.
