It's memes and tropes replacing deeper knowledge everywhere. Since Platner is a hot topic on everyone's mind - here is another one: "Platner is a Nazi" OK, Platner played around with some Nazi images but tell me, has he joined any facsict groups? Maine Paramilitaries? Does he advocate for racial purity? Is the trying to disenfranchise members of unfavored groups? Steven Miller wears silk suits may have skin as clear a babies butt, but he's a lot closer to a Nazi in what he actually *does* and advocates than there is any evidence Platner is. Platner may be stupidly insensitive and ignorant, a fake, and even unsuited for the job, but there doesn't seem to be shred of factual behavior (yet at least - I am always happy to qualify the arg) ) to label the guy a "Nazi" by action or advocacy in his campaign, but it's already conventional wisdom. It's also typical lazy political meme argument . Edited 13 minutes ago by gehringer_2 Quote
