Based on their current OPS (.804), they would score about 820 runs or roughly 5 runs per game. Their pitching staff with a 3.90 FIP would be expected to give up 630 runs. So “spray hitters” with some power -aside from Dingler - with average to marginally better defensive abilities would constitute a really good team in the absence of traditional and perhaps one dimensional “power hitters” that the chicks dig because chicks dig home runs? My fear is that the cloning process would create copies in which slight variations produced serial killer or a clone that lacked that unique experiential input that created the super hitter that McGonigle has become. The version, that because he was hugged by his weird aunt just one too many times -- sits in his mom's basement eating double stuffed Oreos and playing The Sims wouldn't be great for our selfish needs.
