IdahoBert Posted yesterday at 12:32 PM Posted yesterday at 12:32 PM Strange that tomorrow, Sunday, is a travel day. Have never seen that before, and I don’t remember it having ever occurred but I could be wrong. Must be one of those anomalies of early season scheduling. Quote

Pretty sure it happened last season after the opening series against the Dodgers. Quote

IdahoBert Posted yesterday at 03:04 PM Posted yesterday at 03:04 PM This game starts at the same time as the Arizona vs Purdue game. I have attended both universities and I have some divided loyalties regarding this game, but I find watching basketball excruciating because it’s nonstop. Baseball has a languid enough pace so I can catch my breath which basketball does not possess so I’ll probably concentrate on this game and dart back-and-forth to the ESPN app just to see how the basketball game is going. monkeytargets39 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I’m not a fan of Carpenter leading off. I get why Hinch likes that, but Carp is so aggressive at the dish and having him lead off just always seems like he’s in HR or Bust mode. Carp is at his best when he works a count a little bit and waits for the mistake. 2 Quote

IdahoBert Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I wish I had more faith in Jack Flaherty. He had his moments in games last year, but he was also frequently hit pretty hard. If he only gets hit moderately hard and our guys can score runs, that would be a my best case scenario. Although he could rise to the occasion and allow one run in six innings. Quote
IdahoBert Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago So the “pregame“ is only 10 minutes long with no frills. And so far there’s only Daniella and no Andy Dirks as the support staff. Maybe they gave Andy bus fare to get to Phoenix to save money. We do, though, get Jason and Peaches for PBP. Quote

GalagaGuy Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Running on contact when on third is one of those unwritten rules that needs to die. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Have the players been told to never use ABS early in the game - Because I saw that was not a strike in real time and if my blind arse can see it........... Quote
GalagaGuy Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I don't think a batter has any idea when it comes to a pitch on the far side of the plate. Unless that pitch is 6 inches outside, they're not going to know it was a ball. Quote
