casimir Posted Sunday at 01:43 PM Posted Sunday at 01:43 PM Ah….. morning coffee on the patio with a light breeze, birds chirping, the smell of a game 7 victory,…. That’s right, the morning of a game 7 victory smells like the lilac bush with a hint of bacon from a neighbor’s kitchen. Going to add freshly cut grass to that mix soon, too. Quote

Deleterious Posted Sunday at 01:52 PM Posted Sunday at 01:52 PM 4-1 this season with Davis as the crew chief. Pistons are wearing blue tonight. 1 Quote
monkeytargets39 Posted Sunday at 02:02 PM Posted Sunday at 02:02 PM There is zero reason for this game to be at 8:00pm. Quote

While true, the answer to all your questions is money. The TV show starts at 8:00. Tip probably won’t be until 8:15. Elongated TV timeouts and whatnot will push the end of this to close to 11:00. I get it, but both teams are in the eastern time zone, so the time should favor that local areas schedule. If it was an east v west team I can understand a lot more. Is it really such a big deal for west coast fans to watch the game at 3 or 4pm on Sunday? Edited Sunday at 02:19 PM by monkeytargets39 Quote

As Del said, we had a winning record with Davis as crew chief. He also has the 6th lowest called fouls per game and 4th lowest point total per game. Sounds great, right? Nope. Davis was the Crew Chief for Game 4. Remember that one? That's the one where the Cavs shot 34 free throws to our 12 and Mitchell alone had more than our entire team. Now, maybe it was the rest of the crew (Tiven, Maddox, and Ervin) who called all those fouls in Game 4 and Davis will return to regular season form tonight. Or maybe it was just the call from the league office. Guess we'll find out later. 1 Quote

My flight from Asia gets in at 10:15 ET and I have low hopes for wifi before then. I don’t think I can count on more than the 2nd half of the 4th and that will be with Blaha, who legendary as he is, tends to forget he is calling this series for radio not TV. I’ve watched each game of the series over breakfast here (Japan and Taiwan) for $5.99 a pop via League Pass. But I’m an admitted fair weather/bandwagon Pistons fan so my travel schedule isn’t really a good enough reason for the league to schedule the game for 8pm. oblong Posted Sunday at 03:52 PM Posted Sunday at 03:52 PM I’m pretty sure that fans of participating teams are not considered at all in the equation for an NBA playoff game 7. It’s whatever the league and entity paying for the broadcast rights want. I went to a tiger playoff game on a Saturday night and came right back Sunday morning for a noon start time. Quote
buddha Posted Sunday at 04:06 PM Posted Sunday at 04:06 PM (edited) Our old friend JEIII article today about how the knicks would rather play the cavs than the pistons. basically because the cavs are soft. he also says the knicks should beat either team. i think that's overrating the knicks. or perhaps he thinks the pistons are not very good without difference maker isaiah livers? JEIII is Captain Obvious. Everyone knows the Knicks wants the Cavs. They've had the Cavs number all year and we've had the Knicks number all year. We all know it. The Knicks know it. The league knows it. I just hope the refs forgot about it for one night. Quote

This is going to take a huge effort to get it done. Home court advantage is lessened considerably by the fact the league was already advertising a Cavs/Knicks series. They want the Cavs. Btw, it doesn’t make any sense to me. The horrible fake fouls will become so obvious and fans are bound to get sick of the constant free throw series featuring the Four Tops of Flops in SGA/Wemby and Brunson/Harden. They need the Pistons in there to balance things out. 1 Quote

Sports_Freak Posted Sunday at 05:49 PM Posted Sunday at 05:49 PM At about 11 PM tonight, I'm either going to be grinning and happy or mad and depressed. So before my possible knee-jerk reactions, let me state that this season has been a total blast. As much as I now don't like Cleveland, I would still want them to beat NY. Quote

Amazing season! And yea, I guess I'll root for the Cavs if they win. I hate Harden so bad, but it's balanced by my hate of the other flopper, Brunson. Once you add KAT into the mix, the answer becomes obvious. 1 Quote
