Not Zimmermann level disappointment, but not what I was expecting. In the past, he has usually gotten into a groove where he is dominant for a long time. Hopefully, that is in his future. Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Carp smokes a ball off the 1B and gets a 2-run single out of it. 4-3 MIN Edited 2 hours ago by Crazy Cat Gentleman Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Wow. The Tigers sure paid a lot of money for their 4th-best starter. He's just not very good. Quote
Dan Gilmore Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Framber threw an inning and then waited an hour and a half for the rain delay before his second inning.I give him a break for today, although he has been pitching below my expectations. Quote
chasfh Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago A couple of really good plays ina row from McGonigoggles. Not bad for a minus defender. 🦆🦆 Quote

Would another team take Keith at $5M/yr without the Tigers picking up part? Probably not as he is now. Colt Keith isn’t going anywhere. Quote

I would be really surprised if we do not keep him through 2029. I think he would have to continue his abject collapse for the rest of this year plus maintain the abject collapse throughout 2027 plus continue the collapse well into 2028 before we just eat the rest of the contract. Otherwise, Keith would have to be crowded out of 3B and 1B by better long-term options right now for us to actively shop him. Quote

Yeah, I mean, in the spirit of anything is possible, it’s possible that Keith could have a sudden and immediate turnaround to become an above average hitter this season yet. But since we’re in the middle of the season and not in the offseason or spring training, I don‘t know how Colt can find the time to work on a different approach and commit it to muscle memory, if that’s what it’s gonna take. I think I remember reading in the spring that Keith reworked his swing so he wouldn't get off to another slow start? Whatever he did, well, he started out good but not doing so well recently. Quote

Even that exact hit ball had a .440 xBA. So that hit was simply unlucky, not a fail. There are bigger issues he needs to work onto change things up, it’s just that in the middle of a season, there’s no time, so in the meantime he has to try to keep his head clear and just do the things he’s worked on properly to get results. Sports_Freak Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Sommers looked pretty good his last couple of outings. Not so much tonight. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago These AAA pitchers are so inconsistent. Disaster of an inning. I guess we kinda know who is going down to Toledo later in the week? Quote
