chasfh Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Blop! And that's it! Kind of a bummer I have to hear John Schiffren and Dan Plesac get all mopey about it, rather than Dan Dickerson going crazy (I assume), but I'll accept it. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted June 21 Posted June 21 some critical ABs in this game ran counter to platoon rules Quote
lordstanley Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Sweep! Biggest win of the year. Guardians lose. Tigers 7.5 behind 1st place in the Central, the closest they’ve been in awhile Quote
Tiger337 Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Best series of the year for the Tigers regardless! I'll resume the extra inning bitching at a later time (next time it happens) Quote

Tigermojo Posted June 21 Posted June 21 I'm impressed. Shades of gritty. Vierling calls them gritty. Quote

gehringer_2 Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Jones and Vierling - the value of getting the ball in play. Quote
VegasTiger Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Jones saved the game for a minute. Kevin saved the game for a minute. Dingler saved the game. 1 Quote

Or when I see a hitter strikeout 150 times a season. Times change and either go with the change or just stop watching. If enough people stop watching, MLB will change the rules. But there was 40,000 fans at the game today and I don't think many walked out. Quote
VegasTiger Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Right fielder should have been standing where Vierlings ball dropped. Anything deeper would score a run anyway. 2 Quote

That is teams making strategic changes within the rules of the game. The extra inning base runner is a forced artifical rule change which fundamentally alters the way the game is played. 40,000 fans would have showed up without the rule change. It was a big series and a lot of them thought Verlander was going to pitch! Quote
