I knew about Eduardo Rodriguez because I played most of the 1973 season in APBA as a kid and he had a card with 2's all over it which meant that he would get a ton of triples if he played everyday. So, I looked him up and saw the reason Quote
gehringer_2 Posted July 10 Posted July 10 (edited) we should note the pretty terrible performance by Jansen. He burned a whole month's worth of BaBIP karma tonight. The only downside was that he didn't throw enough pitches to definitely put himself out of an appearance tomorrow. Edited July 10 by gehringer_2 Quote

Sports_Freak Posted July 10 Posted July 10 CF is where home runs go to die at Comerica. But Valencia crushed that ball, just crushed it. Quote

Tonight he wasnt good, he was lucky. Quote

I remembered Yan because I was watching that game and he homered in the first AB ( I think it was the first pitch he saw) and then he executed a sacrifice bunt in his other AB. Didn’t realize he had a 3rd AB a few years later 1 Quote
Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted July 10 Posted July 10 I had forgotten that Daniel Norris is also on the list of Tigers with a first-AB home run. most of us probably remember that Outman hit one is his first Tiger AB, but he also hit one in his firs MLB AB (as a Dodger). Quote

Did an all players available draft so had stacked lineups. 1st of the 4 passed this winter, night before the funeral his kid (40s) subbed in for him for game or two. Fun night at a sad time. 2 Quote

I'm part of a strato league that's been going on since the 70's. 16 member league. Didn't think anyone else knew of Strato. Quote

I think Stratomatic was the most famous simulation in the 70s, 80s era. It's great that you've kept a league going for so long. How many of the original members are still in the league? Quote

So, I looked him up and saw the reason I was in an APBA league for several years. Started out with the cards then moved to Baseball for Windows. I joined the league at the beginning of their 1930 season. We played every other season, integrated early (to the consternation of the purists). It was a fun time, learned a lot about my players, especially once you got past the well known ones. My son was 10 when we joined, quit when he started college, it was an enjoyable time 1 Quote
