So....can Max pitch? I'm not sure what he can do about our bullpen. A desperate GM making a desperate move that's not even addressing this teams biggest problem. But sure, let's see what the kid can do. It's always fun seeing a can't miss prospect make his MLB debut. I wish him well.

So are you saying there was no rational reason to promote Max Clark and that it’s merely a performative gesture?

I hope Max doesn’t have trouble with the sunlight in centerfield. I remember spring training and it’s unfair to judge him on the basis of that, but man, I sure don’t want to see a repeat.

Well, his hat looks good wearing sunglasses. Either wear them correctly or leave them im the dugout. I always thought that was/is a stupid look.

It does absolutely nothing to help this Tigers team most glaring need, the bullpen. But, like i said, it's exciting seeing a young player starting out his baseball journey. And it does reek of a desperate move by the GM to take pressure off of the team failures. Give fans/media something to talk and focus on after blowing a 7th inning 7 run lead.

Detroit is 28th in center field WAR and 22nd in reliever WAR.

What if the purpose of bringing Clark up is to make Javy more available to play in the IF because they're planning on trading Gleyber?

what if the purpose of bringing Clark up is that Outman is terrible?

Gleyber is probably equal to better odds than Skubal to be dealt.

Well, sure, that's part of it. But with the probability that there'll be no baseball for at least a significant portion of 2027, there's some real benefit to keeping Clark in Toledo -- unless you expect to trade Gleyber and thus need to replace Javy's innings in CF.
