Tiger337 Posted August 2 Posted August 2 Zyhir Hope, River Ryan and Brady Smith. Not exactly the haul people were talking about, but it's in line with what I expected. I'm not sure what to think. It's better than they would have gotten from a comp pick, but Clark has gotten me pretty excited about the current team so it's not exciting to see Skubal go. 1 1 Quote

We’re beating the A’s for proper context. Quote
IdahoBert Posted August 2 Posted August 2 This game is going to have to be over before they announce things, but my guess is that Skubal is no longer in the clubhouse. Quote

lordstanley Posted August 2 Posted August 2 (edited) Why is Rosenthal saying Sheehan? Edit: a minute later Rosenthal corrected it is Ryan not Sheehan. Edited August 2 by lordstanley Quote
monkeytargets39 Posted August 2 Posted August 2 There’s no way that’s the best package they could’ve gotten 1 Quote
JackMorrisStache Posted August 2 Posted August 2 (edited) So can we still make a run to the postseason with this current staff? And do you think there is any chance this Hope guy gets a call up to possibly provide another “spark” for the offense? Edited August 2 by JackMorrisStache Quote

Tenacious D Posted August 2 Posted August 2 The best way to evaluate this trade is whether you think the package from the Dodgers is more valuable than a draft pick in the 30-40 range. (and assume another team didn’t offer us better). Quote

IdahoBert Posted August 2 Posted August 2 You mean, we didn’t get a major league ready right handed power hitter who would love playing 81 games a year in Comerica Park? Fire Harris! < Yes I’m trolling> Quote

TigerNation Posted August 2 Posted August 2 1 minute ago, monkeytargets39 said: There’s no way that’s the best package they could’ve gotten There was no reason to expect more than that. The people clamoring for trading Skubal were always living in fantasy land about what teams are willing to give up for a rental. 2 Quote

I know you and a lot others have given on this season, but the fact that they are within 2 1/2 games of a playoff spot is also a consideration. 1 Quote
