Tough watching him fight the tears with the long pauses. And who wouldn’t be glad to join the best baseball team in the world… But he’s got a history with Detroit, friendships, everything that goes with it. I’m sure it’s really a conflicted sense of feelings.

Well if he gets homesick nothings stopping him from resigning in Detroit. He can get a ring in the meantime.

I’m just not understanding acquiring a left handed hitter as the big piece.  Maybe there’s some other stuff in the works, but we are desperate for competent RH bats.

So's everyone else.

Finnegan is a mess.  They can’t keep trotting him out there.   Same goes for Sommers.

The only way to stop trotting him out there is remove him from the roster. But as long as he's there, AJ can't simply refuse to use him. He can only choose when to use him, like being up 7-1, or up 8-2.

Vest's level of broke proved to be pretty bad.

And bring that experience back to the team with him.

Is any lead safe? Oh...I see...that's what you implied. Very....subtle. 😆😆

It’s a very small sample, but the first 2 LH hitters Harris drafted have no issues against LH pitching either in the minors or so far in the majors.  The hitters with the platoon issues are all from the previous regime.

Tears me nothing to me, he knew how to avoid them.  Agree to 4/$120M.     Now go stuff your tears in a sack, I hope he pitches at Comerica and gets rocked and in the post season.

Max doesn't seem as brash as the media made him out to be. So he has tattoos and wears jewelry...who cares? He looks really talented and talented players who are kinda cocky usually back it up. I think he is going to be a tremendous help to this team. So many rookies....

I think Jansen was salty about the bunt, but he can take that ish and shove up his squeak hole.

McNeill got a run in and safely got on base.  Maybe Jansen was salty because the Tigers wouldn’t be able to successfully execute that?

If anything he seems pretty focused and humble.

That’s not the way the world works. Holding him to a standard that no one else follows is like complaining about a rainy day.

Clark is not a jerk, just expressive. MLB should embrace him—has a keen marketing sense at 21.  If baseball wants to be more interesting to a younger market, it’s going to be through players like Max.

Im old enough to know how the world works.   So playing Wilma Weepy to me doesn't work when he and he alone made the decision to leave.  Sign a rich contract and stay if it meant so much to you.

Would your answer be different if the Tigers are 4.5 out after tomorrow's games?

I like that they traded him. I'm not sure what you mean. Now looking at the trade, I think the Tigers probably could've done better. But, yes, I would've traded him. And if the players make it still work for themselves and put them in the playoffs, that's all the better. The season didn't have to die with Skubal being traded.

My post was what it said. I'm glad they traded him, but now let's move on and make the playoffs. It would be fun to see players that will be here next season (if there is a next season) step up and still get into the postseason.

But, I will say this, if the Tigers were 2 1/2 IN the playoffs, I probably wouldn't have traded him.

In that case I don't think they would have.

How can you think this?  Do you think Harris and team are incompetent or had another agenda?  Why wouldn’t they accept the best offer?

Not accusing you of this, but I think a lot of Tigers fans were seduced by all of the trade rumors and proposed packages offered by the media and ex-GM’s.  They weren’t grounded in any reality.
