Some amazing stuff in that Vance article. Ed Martin loves him some Hitler. He's also really, really, really bad at his job. Quote

Motown Bombers Posted May 13 Posted May 13 This can’t be real. On a side note, I went high school with a Josh Shriver that was a total douchebag who would do something like this. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Wow, he went to the same high school as me. He’s a bit younger than me so I already graduated by the time he got to high school. Quote
chasfh Posted May 18 Author Posted May 18 Even more depressing then the fact that this person felt completely at ease spewing her hateful garbage in this video, is the fact that she started an online fundraiser to “protect her family” after the incident and has raised something like $700,000. My guess as to why she’s been able to raise so much is that she has the look of the kind of woman that Nazified white Christian nationalists would like to get busy populating the world with. C-word is too kind a description for this person. “Monster” seems more apt. Her poor kid doesn’t have a chance. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted May 18 Posted May 18 We lived a few years in Minneapolis and I even worked in an industrial facility with lots of working class men, and though it took a while to see it, I did eventually become aware that there was definitely a reactionary element in what was otherwise a pretty good hearted community. At the time (about a decade ago) it was oddly more underground than the racism I'd seen in MI. My experience here has always been that MI bigots didn't try to hide as much as what I sensed in MN. Probably because more southern whites migrated to Detroit versus the Norwegians that predominate in Minnesota. Different approaches to their racism. Quote
LaceyLou Posted May 19 Posted May 19 What makes it interesting is that if you read novels from around the time when Scandinavians were among the most recent immigrants to MN, they're definitely portrayed as being inferior to the WASPs that were in the area first. How quickly people forget.... 1 Quote

What 'essential services' does he, guy behind a microphone flapping his gums, contribute to the world? Bringing up housing in particular is really hilarious when you consider who it is that actually *builds* housing in this country. It ain't guys sitting behind a microphone flapping their gums, that's for sure. 1 Quote

Motown Bombers Posted Tuesday at 03:04 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:04 PM My neighborhood has turned into an immigrant neighborhood. On one side I have Ukrainian neighbors, on the other Middle Eastern, and across the street more Ukrainians and Middle Eastern along with some Albanians mixed in. I worry about ICE mistakenly raiding my house than any crime caused by the immigrants. Quote

There's that, but also, since he lives near immigrants, he knows who they are, perhaps even says hi and chats with them once in a while. I don't know whether he actually does, but that's what most neighborly folks would do. Almost all the red hats who are mightily exercised about the immigrant population don't live near any immigrants. Immigrants are a scary other to them, so red hats will believe any bad lie that's told about immigrants. Quote

I wouldn't underestimate the suburbanites who are reacting to the changing demographics of their neighborhoods.... they are out there, saw it quite a bit when I lived in DFW in particular (which has a lot of immigrants) Quote
