romad1 Posted June 9 Posted June 9 I would look forward to her non remunerative exposes on the Trump 2.0 first year. Hope that happens. Please let them happen soon if they are going to happen. If she was insulted...as it says here. Quote

Also, I looked up her address a while back, lives down the street from a friend of mine about 10 min from me. Quote

chasfh Posted June 10 Author Posted June 10 I didn't think it would ever come to this, but I am becoming afraid of this generation. Quote

romad1 Posted June 15 Posted June 15 For some reason this thread crosses the topic of immigration. Stumbled across a recent "Bald and Bankrupt" video where he is in Japan which is famously not immigrant friendly. Lo, he was in a 7-11 and the guys running it were Nepalese. The Nepalese Gurkhas were famously feared/respected greatly by the Japanese in WWII, but these fellows were happily and successfully thriving. So, I did some looking and it appears Japan has decided to seize the advantage of allowing immigration and now has around 4M immigrants. Out of a population around 122M that's not huge but... a trend that indicates the sense of having population mobility into wealthier countries from lower wealth countries. https://seasiastats.com/statistic/top-15-foreign-resident-nationalities-in-japan-2024-3Kplv Quote

Trump is working toward turning us into some mashed-up version of China, Russia, and Singapore. The difference with us is we have a population that won't simply stand down and accept it, as the Russians, Chinese, and Singaporeans are conditioned to do. We will actually push back, loudly and peacefully, and practically dare the authorities to use state violence against us. That would be the down side, for them, of encouraging the embedding into our national DNA the view that we Americans can do anything we want and be anything we want. That may or may not exactly be true, but either way, we believe it, so we will put up a fight for it. Quote
