Fun facts: the touchdown sound on the Mattel football game is used in Supertramp’s “Logical Song”

d-d-d-d-d-digital *chirp chirp* I said one two three five.

My step-brother used to time it perfectly so that he’d score a touchdown at the exact right moment of the song.

He also used to time a fart during the stop at about 4:15 into “My Sharona” so there’s that.

Everthing I learned about football came from that game.  We weren't a football family so didn't watch much and the Lions didn't offer much incentive outside of Billy Sims.  My older sister and her husband had it so I would play it when at their house.

I can hear the fart stop in my head and I am sitting here giggling.   It's still funny at 60.

"it's still real to me, dammit"

I’m guessing that the heart of the “personalized fan experience” is an algorithm optimized to maximize your opportunity to bet on props based on the history of your interaction on the site.

Yesterday Bobcat Bonnies had a facebook post, basically saying that things are hard and they need help with financial management.

And today Sister Pie says they are going to close for awhile after June 9 to regroup and figure out what is next.  They'll do pop ups and special event catering and classes.

Haven't been to Bobcat Bonnie's in Detroit in several years and the one in Wyandotte  in about a year.  Their menu didn't make it a destination place for us and both Corktown and Wyandotte have a lot of options for when we do end up there.

Sister Pie is tougher because we do go regularly and are in that area a lot.  On my days off I would often go down there for coffee and a pastry for breakfast.

I still have the second model, the green one that has "passing".    I have not tried to play it in a long time.

The rock band Supertramp had one because they used it in "The Logical Song"

This is cool. We had a chance to visit when we were up in February. The old train station looks fantastic. This is icing on the cake...

Ford has reached an agreement with NoMad Hotels to open a 180-room hotel inside historic Michigan Central Station, most likely in 2027.

Why it matters: A new hotel helps propel Ford's long-term transformation of the once-vacant train depot into a global innovation hub and gathering place that symbolizes the city's future.

What they're saying: The Monday morning announcement is a "huge step forward" for Michigan Central after moving in Ford employees in October and the ongoing work next door at Newlab to pursue cutting-edge mobility solutions, Michigan Central CEO Josh Sirefman tells Axios.

Boeing 787 went down on takeoff in India. One survivor, several people on the ground killed. Plane got airborne and just appeared to lose power and come back down. No apparent loss of control or attitude. Multiple bird injestion being cited as a possibility

I only paid attention at the beginning but some flight experts I follow said it didn't look like their flaps  were set properly on takeoff, like 255 at Metro.

I saw that, certainly possible but 255 hardly even got off the ground, this plane looked like it did have decent lift in the seconds before it went down. There is some loss of ground effect lift on take-off  though.
