A good portion of the new HBO documentary on the team revolves around Turner’s struggles and Freese’s inability to completely separate himself. I agree the defense isn’t exceptional which makes it even more important to have a keeper that’s not meh.

jones has been as a big a case of the team being stubborn as any. if he had any track record before last season it might be one thing, but he’s racked up a full negative WAR just as a PH, which ain’t easy to do in 1/3 of a season. There must be a setting in MyChart that reduces the number of reminders. I get one a week before and a day before. Beyond that, I love MyChart because I can send questions to my doctors that get answered by them or their PAs within a day. Before this I could never have called them to ask anything and expect a reply.

Valdez has apparently earned the right to try to work past long stretches of bad pitching. I think that would be true of any pitcher who has had enough success to garner a rich long-term contract. They get a far longer leash than a rookie or a journeyman would.
