  1. Past hour
  2. I remember going to a Mud Hens game and a group of maybe a dozen fans would wildly yell “SKEETER!” when he came up to bat. Unsurprisingly, that group seemed to have vacated after beer sales were done.
  3. The bird requested a redo.
  4. I thought about including him on that list I made, but even though he's athletic, he's closer to a 1-tech than a 3-tech, and it's hard to see him getting significant playing time behind Tyleik and Alim. Intuitively, it feels like even the Lions can have too much of a good thing if you've got Levi and Miller riding the pine while a no name gets their ass handed to them by a tight end across from a double team on Hutch.
  5. That sounds like Brad. I would rather they add some speed to the LB and edge group. I like Jacob Rodriguez as well. Miller's scouting report is that he is a 325 pound one tech, just like Tyleik.
  6. Kang also called the Tyleik Williams pick from last year as well.
  7. I think you can be creative with the direction (adding a nickel, safety, or corner), but I'd be surprised if they go into week one with the defensive backfield they currently have. Feels like you're depending a lot on Kerby, who's a question mark, Branch, who probably won't be back until at least October, and even Rakestraw, who's struggled to see an NFL field.
  8. I don't spend time learning about players for the draft, but the Lions selecting an OT with the first round has my approval.
  9. Alice Cooper was awesome. The energy he has at 78 is amazing. The guy tours probably 250 days a year all around the US and Europe. The surprise of the concert was a rendition of Smells Like Teen Spirit during his encore. First time he's ever done that. Well, I'm sure he's done it for the few shows during this tour, but never has done it during any other tour in the last 25 years.
  10. Celebrating like he won a free bottle koozy at a small town car show.
  11. If you listen to 97.1, you know that Kang has been on fire the past couple years with guessing who the Lions are going to pick. He called the Miller pick last night and last year he called the Ratledge and TeSlaa picks. He has the Lions taking DT Christen Miller from Georgia tonight.
  12. Played my first night of outdoor sand volleyball last night. The first night of the season is always one of the best. What outdoor sports do people play around here during the spring/summer/fall seasons? I get the feeling I'm going to be peer pressured into pickleball. Actually played it during a day of sand volleyball the Sunday of Labor Day week barefooted for about four hours. It was fun. But we did the bridge walk and walked some trails at some state parks in the area that day and my feet were hurting pretty bad. Basically wore off a couple of layers of skin. So I learned one thing - don't play four hours of pickleball with bare feet.
  13. Keggie down one fan in the RW media.
  14. Today
  15. I had to cover a sporting event and I got to my car late in the second quarter. Heard the score, heard Champion pretty much saying the Pistons were playing mighty well but the Magic just weren't hitting shots and it's scary how it was still tied. So I get home, my wife has me do something outside before I get in to watch the game. I walk in and the Pistons are up 15. It almost blew my brain. 🙂 It's nice to see it's still possible to hold a team to 38-point halves in an NBA playoff game.
  16. I think a guy like Jacob Rodriguez the LB from Texas Tech is a textbook Dan Campbell player. He's a high motor, good character guy, who seems to love the game of football and have a strong work ethic. As well, he could slide in and be our WLB to replace Anzalone. Gabe Jacas also fits those traits but plays at another position of need as a DE/Edge. Jacas also gives them what they covet in an edge-setting lineman, who can stay in on all three downs and play against the run. I'd personally be fine enough with either Jacas or Rodriguez. I'd prefer Jacas as he offers more ability to get at the QB and disrupt passing plays. He had 11 sacks, 41 total pressures, and 22 hurries. I'm really intrigued by his pass rush abilities. I doubt he makes it to the Lions pick at #50, but would run the draft card right up to Goodell and make the pick.
  17. Are the hit pieces on Kerr already starting? Mark Spears was on a podcast and said the Warriors grew tired of Kerr's political comments.
  18. I will be on the road for this one. It's going to be a sirus/xm radio game for me. My wife has a super rare Saturday off (had to use her last vacation days of her work anniversary) and had this planned a couple of weeks ago. Hmmmm, It's a Peacock game. I do have Peacock and keep forgetting I do. I think they archive games, right? Maybe I should just try to ignore social media and radio stations (I've become pretty good at doing this) and just watch the game when I get a chance late Sat night. I think I may try to do that.
  19. I feel like safety is a greater need than edge. This defense has always been at its best with a killer like Kerby patrolling center field to pick off rushed throws.
  20. Only 4 of the 16 teams will even hit the 15 game played mark. Playoffs are short, you have to make do with small data set sizes. If you want something with more minutes we can look at last years playoffs. Duren in 110 minutes with Ausar on the court was +6.7. In 94 minutes without Thompson on the court, Duren was -23.4
  21. Does anyone know what was the call when Randy Johnson’s pitch hit the bird so the ball veered wide of the catcher and went to the backstop. Was it a deadball/no pitch or a ball/wild pitch?
  22. By definition, he is now no longer underrated!
