  1. Past hour
  2. Yes, I kind of wonder how much Allen’s early foul trouble led into the early lead that was ultimately erased at one point.
  3. Sonny Gray is so afraid of Zach McKinstry. He pitched him like he was Ted Williams or something. Nothing even close to the strike zone. They used to do this stuff to Brandon Inge too.
  4. Now it’s five strikeouts in a row. Is there any indication that the body snatchers have got a hold of him? Is there a weird button in the back of his neck or something?
  5. Wasn't sure where to put this, interesting
  6. So Jack has struck out four guys in a row. I was hoping that he would hit Story in the back like Framber did, but I’m not allowed to have what I want this world.
  7. I feel very bad for her husband and kids.
  8. So, Jack just struck out the side in the first inning on 11 pitches…
  9. Send Peaches down from the booth.
  10. So if he bombs another start….what do we do?
  11. I haven’t said anything yet about this train wreck, but I remember pounding the table for this guy when Fatricia was hired instead. Clearly Fatricia was the wrong guy and his hire was disastrous. And clearly Vrabel is a very good coach. But this guy… this is not my kind of guy.
  12. I don't see why they wouldn't!
  13. Andy Dufresne-Boyd Redding dichotomy.
  14. Today
  15. true. Do you suppose player agent/lawyers take 30% of the net for the representation in a successful suspension reduction?
  16. This is true, but I think whether as a matter of justice, the hammer finally lands on some of these guys is a separate issue to whether it continues, increases or decreases its importance as a political liability for Trump and/or his political enablers. From that perspective I'm not even in the loop. We were just hosting a friend with conservative siblings and she was telling us that even now, her brother, to whom she will not talk about politics, quite literally doesn't understand what she doesn't like about Trump. I mean, even if you support him, how can you not even understand the sources of other people's doubts/opposition to him? That seems inconceivable to me, but I met her brother years ago, he's just an ordinary Indiana guy. So at this point I try to remind myself not to bother weighing what I think MAGA may do against my own sensibilities.
  17. It means whatever you meant it to mean.
  18. I started reading the book and was disappointed to learn that it contemplated digital products like Amazon and Apple and Facebook exclusively. I had hoped the book would have a broader scope encompassing traditional products, services, and even government, because I do believe that the entire American food commerce ecosystem has be in en****tification mode for decades.
  19. I don't know whether the Epstein issue is out of gas, but the fact that you're even asking the question suggests that it might out of gas with you. And if that's true, then yes, there's a chance that the issue is out of gas with the general public at least at this particular moment. But that doesn't mean it can't be resurrected once the MAGA fever breaks, and given that the nature of the charges likely transcends statute of limitations laws, it's going to be a long time before all the people who are in range of the long arm of the law die and escape true accountability for good.
  20. I think it might be just a you're-the-one-responsible-for-your-pitcher-type thing.
  21. He may miss the next start, and it's anyone's guess how he feels about that, but if he could get his suspension reduced from six days to three, it would save him about half a million dollars, so it's worth the effort just for that.
  22. Is it just protocol to suspend and fine the manager in a situation like this? Did AJ go out to the mound just before that pitch and tell Framber to “clothesline that bastard?” I stopped watching by that point.
