Well they never seem to score any runs for Skubal, so…. -
And never forget Georgia Championship Wrestling - the Tommy "Wildfire" Rich vs Buzz "Mad Dog" Sawyer feud remains the greatest of all time.

Gage Workman is about to put this team on his back and carry it to 1st place. Thus it is said, thus it shall be. -

Coincidence. They went through the shame **** at the end of last year without an injury to Skubal. -

If there have to be billionaires at all, Ted Turner was everything one could hope a billionaire can be.

CJ was the guy who was supposed to be on the mound when the Cubs won Game 7 of the 2016 World Series, and he did get the first two outs of the inning in tough hitters Mike Napoli and Jose Ramirez. But then he gave up a walk to Brandon Guyer and a run-scoring single to Rajai Davis, bringing the Series-winning run to the plate in the person of worst-hitter-on-the-team Michael Martinez. Maddon trusted CJ so little to convert that out that he replaced him with Mike Montgomery, who induced the famous slipping groundout to end the 108-year drought.

He has been given to that problem his entire career. I think Tork might be one of those guys who come into the majors expecting to excel on the sheer force of his innate talent—an easy psychological trap to fall into for a #1 overall pick—such that they don't work so hard to maximize it. Miggy was that way, too, but then, Miggy was innately otherwordly talented in a way Tork could never even dream of working his way to be. -

I don't know whether we come back this year, but I agree that the Tigers are at the core a good team and getting better overall, but that the pile-up of injuries—which no team, except maybe only the Dodgers, has the depth to overcome—is on the verge of ruining our chances this year. -

Who said he's betting ON the Tigers? -
create a win floor. you have to have 30 wins to qualify for the #1 pick. anything less than that and you can't pick higher than 4. or if a team falls below a certain win # -say less than 25 wins - you add wins to their lottery odds so it decreases the chances. until you incentivize winning, teams will continue to tank. its the smart strategy for bad teams in the nba where one player means so much. the pistons have had terrible lottery luck, but the one time they got the #1 pick, they got cade. turned the franchise around. ausar is a nice piece, and ivey was struck by injury, and holland is useless, but think about this team if they had picked #2 and gotten jalen green? and lets be honest, at the end kf the day the league is just going yo rig the results for the spurs or the narrative (lebron to cleveland, drose to chicago) so none of this really matters. 😉

I think this is related to the (probably false flag) assassination threats against Putin, as if anyone outside the vetted inner circle could get anywhere near him.

The simplistic basis of the post overall, but beyond that, the meme was in response to the sneeringly dismissive second sentence and its reductive tropes, which can't be reasoned with.
-
Ted Turner was the God father of cable TV. I loved watching the Braves on TBS.
-
I agree. which is why I think the solution to the tanking issue is the simplest one possible. straight lottery. 30 teams, 30 balls. If you suck, you should be better. Hire better GMs, develop better, whatever. Dont hand a generational talent to teams as a reward for sucking.
-
Ted Turner did bring MLB broadcasts to the masses thru WTBS. Thus opening the way for cable “networks” and individual pay per view type of team broadcast. But he also allowed us to watch old movies with Turner Classic Movies
-
How about Jack Morris? He can pitch to the score.

Gage Workman is being called up...Carpy to the DL(likely) and they have to make room on the 40 man. -
i hope they do. well run franchises make their own luck.
-
Savage!
-
At this point, it would not surprise me if the Tigers would sign Jim Morris to pitch.
