  4. I don't get managers. He didn't give you the inning. It was clear he wasn't going to. You still had to use the BP, all you did was give up the runs and still use the BP. When it comes to handling starters, give me a Sparky Anderson anytime. He wasn't much with his relievers, but I always thought the "2nd time in trouble" rule for starters was spot on.

  9. I forgot to point it out on draft night but one thing I noticed about Ivey is he is taller than I expected. I gauge this by seeing his height when standing next to Adam Silver. I like to use this measurement to gauge a player's actual height that wasn't listed at the combine and if you look at Ivey with Silver there wasn't a whole lot of difference then there was with Ben Mathurin with him who was taken right after him and was listed 2 inches taller. Using the Silver comparison I saw may be a half inch to inch at most. After I noticed that, out of curiosity I went and compared it to Ja Morant and Jaylen Brown as well since I seen multiple people use the Tatum/Brown comparison for what Cade and Ivey could potentially be and the comparisons between him and Ja have been beaten to death. I saw little difference between him and Jaylen, maybe an inch at most in Brown's favor. Jaden appeared probably 2 inches taller than Ja cause Ja was shorter than Silver where as Jaden was a little taller than him. Now granted this isn't an exact science since we don't know the exact footwear everybody was wearing and sometimes pictures can be deceiving but it does give you a rough estimate of a player's true height and judging by this Ivey is maybe an inch or 2 taller than I thought he may have been which is obviously a good thing. He was listed at 6'4 and usually a player is a couple inches shorter than their listed height so that was what I was kinda expecting but Ivey appears to be closer to being legit 6'4 without shoes so the listed height may be one of the rare ones that is indeed accurate. I think he just appeared shorter watching him at Purdue cause Purdue was a bit of a throwback team in regards to the fact that they still rostered a bunch of taller players, particularly by college basketball standards.

  11. When Soto pitches like this, he is as good as anyone. Just needs to bottle it and keep it somewhere he won't lose it again.

  13. Two for the price of one. Tigers are looking for some instant runs. He kicks and deals … And a man from Warren will take that one home with him.

  15. I'm sure this is true but that is about as in-artfully as you could have expressed it in that tweet. He's going to get hammered. I'll be sure to play my tiniest violin for him.....

  16. I read this as Cornyn clapping back at the tweeter by pointing out a previous Court precedent that was also overturned. I don’t think he’s suggesting reinstating Plessy by overturning Brown. I’m not saying he would not mind doing so—maybe he’d like to. I’m just saying I don’t think that’s what’s going on here.

  17. We desperately needed an outfielder and we had too many infielders. I'm fine with the trade. I do think Meadows, once healthy, will rebound. It might not be until next season, but I am not giving up on him in half a season. Paredes still only has a .273 OBP. It's too early to really compare him to anyone, but I think, at his best, he's Jhonny Peralta - and that's his ceiling. I can live without having a Jhonny Peralta. I think Meadows could have a Bobby Higginson-like career, which before the quick decline, was pretty good.

  18. Situation: 2 Men On, 2 Out, Bot 7th, Baltimore up 2-1, Lance Lynn wavering having thrown over 100 pitches, White Sox pitching coach Ethan Katz at the mound for a visit. Orioles Announcer Kevin Brown: "So, is this a wise move to stay with Lynn here versus a pitching change?" Orioles Color Commentator Jim Palmer: "Probably not." Result: Infield Single, HBP, Pitching Change (Jose Ruiz), Bases clearing double, 6-1 Orioles More brilliant managing from Tony L
