Obviously won’t happen. Miggy will not take one penny less than Papa Doc committed the organization to paying him, and who can blame him? The organization is also not going to simply release Miggy perhaps because they believe the blowback from the fans will be too great to withstand. Whether that’s actually true may be immaterial. Miggy is on record as wanting to play next season, which forces the Tigers’ hand, and the easiest way for them to handle it is suck it up and find ways to minimize the damage of having him on the roster all next year, which can probably already be written off as a lost season. This is the price we have to pay of having an owner who wanted to win no matter the cost, but had no real idea how to do that.

It took many years, but I believe the FCC finally forced radio stations to stop broadcasting commercials at higher audio levels than their regular programming - but now the practice has just moved to steaming services. The commercials in the Tiger game day stream are running at least 12db higher than Dan's mike in the booth, to the point where if I the cut the volume to 'bearable' for the spots, I literally can't hear Dan at all. The increasing severity of this practice has actually driven me back to listening on broadcast radio despite the greater convenience of using the stream. However today's game on AM an my house is out of range for 1270 AM. 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡

Growth companies that are not cash positive (they may have a high revenues growth rate but if Op expenses remain higher than Net Margin as they try to expand their business) have to borrow money. The higher the interest rates, the harder or more costly it is to borrow. Thus, the businesses growing the most rapidly, and that includes employment, stop growing or run into cash flow problems if they are unable to borrow... or both.
