  1. Just think of all the May flowers.
  2. Wait a minute. Is this related to a mid season tournament whereby the Pistons lose all games and also get future home games turned into road games?
  3. There’s also an element of good fortune at play as well, and that’s fine. The bullpen not named Lange was been lights out save for a solo home run. 12 2/3 IP and only 4 hits and 4 walks (3 from Lange) vs 14 strikeouts? That won’t last, but at the same time, Hinch has not been afraid to paint outside the lines and with different numbers a bit. Multiple innings, there isn’t an obvious traditional closer right now. A 3-0 start on now on to the New York Mess. I’m pretty sure the Pistons just won their 3rd game of the season not that long ago and they are a mess. This paragraph is full circle onto itself. You’re welcome. Huzzah, Morans! Be sure to drink your Ovaltine.
  4. This was a fun series to see Hinch playing matchups and using the bench. All position players besides Kelly played two of the three games. He was quick enough to pull Lange out from a complete disaster, and has deployed the bullpen very well. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s only 3 games against the Jerk Sox. But it was a sweep. Can’t do much better than that.
  5. At the current pace they’ll finish 162-0 with a run differential of +162. I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that would be a first in MLB history.
  6. I hate that BB/SO ratio and BB% and SO% on their own. On the other hand, when bat does meet ball, at $20M for a few seasons with $2M buyouts if something does go awry?
  7. Well, let’s see what the development staff can do about the position players.
  8. I could have spent more time in Colonial Williamsburg, but kids.
  9. Lange, Baez, and the pizza spear.
  10. I'm pretty stubborn with my sports. I follow to the bitter end. This time of year is tougher to follow the Pistons because I hold the Tigers above all and there's usually games that interfere with each other. But, there's day games, off days, rain outs, so I can still catch Piston games. But I think I'm checked out for the season. And I hate that kind of mentality. You've got a team, you stick with them through thick and thin. I hate the selfish pity party "I'm so done with this team" crap. But this organization is just so flipping dreadful right now. Sure, they have some younger players that might offer hope. But I'm not sure that they fit together. I doubt that the front office is good enough to build around a core, and I would suggest there's plenty of evidence over the 4 years to back that up. It sucks. I've taken plenty of shots at Drunk Uncle Tommy. He started out too buddy buddy with his star player. He seems to have backed off of that since then. I'm not sure if/how involved he is with the front office. But this team is just stuck in a pathetic quagmire right now. Is there a glass ceiling of mediocrity as long as he is in charge?
  11. "A pizza on a spear?! Can you believe that?!"
  12. 9 2/3 of shutout ball from the arm barn to start the season. 3 hits, 3 walks (all by Lange), and 10 strikeouts (1 by Lange for which Moancada should be released).
  13. Miller told Hinch he had this.
  14. They’ve got pizza on a spear in the clubhouse.
  15. Never a doubt. Get your brooms ready for tomorrow.
  16. Well, looks like this at bat is the most important of the game.
  17. One pitch, one out, runner stays put. Dig it.
  18. GIVE HIM THE CHAIR!!!
  19. It looked like it hit the lip of the grass and dirt.
  20. Ok, so, shut down the Sux in the 8th, get Baez to the dish in the 9th, and shut down the Sux in the 9th. Are we all good with that? Ready? Break!
  21. Torkleson popping up a lot early on.
  22. “Hey Blue, I gotta take him out. His eyes are hurt, he can’t find the catcher’s mitt.”
  23. Dude…… so close.
