  1. How do we know he is making the call for him to sit?
  2. Probably the best defense I've ever seen out of Bogdanovic.
  3. Embiid to Wiseman during pregame: "Hey, James, can I call you Andre tonight? Can you wear 0 on your jersey tonight?"
  4. Except he didn't struggle.
  5. Why did Embiid play 35 last night? Are they ramping him up for the playoffs? Seems like an opportunity rest him a bit more than they did.
  6. Easier to win games late when the difference is a run or two rather than five or six. The pitching depth and improved defensive options should help that. Now as far as manufacturing the runs needed......
  7. Looks like they played through the eclipse in Lakeland.
  8. Restoration, baby.
  9. I'm still a bit worried about Keith and Torkelson on the same side of the infield. A shot in between is a shot in between and will be a single regardless of who is over their. But this team's postseason chances seem to be built on pitching (added depth over the offseason) and trying to win the margins where they can (evident in the use of the bench during the games). Now, we have seen a good amount of shifting within the rules still, so they can take advantage of that with Baez up the middle. But will it be enough to be favorable on an amount of those grounders to the right side? So, I'm probably with you on the 0 DRS and 0 OAA, but how does that parlay to the team defense?
  10. True. But they took advantage of Bednar's issues and figured out a way to win. Ugly offense for 8 innings and opportunistic for 1. Good enough. I think we've seen plenty in the past where a Tiger team doesn't take advantage of what could be be gifted to them. We definitely have seen their defensive issues in the past.
  11. This was clutch.
  12. Yup. They could be turkeys.
  13. I think there are some folks that follow baseball too much like football, at least in terms of a game by game basis. Having said that, the Tigers won their first football game 6-4. Not sure if that's an apt comparison or not.
  14. Not bad in Pittsburgh for this series.
  15. My worthless guess is they would want a RHH option to play 2B, a semi platoon partner with Keith although maybe not a strict platoon. I would think the pecking order would be Kreidler first and then one of Perez/Leonard. With Perez, there’s a bit more OF flexibility, but probably only 2B for the IF (and with Vierling and Urshela, that’s probably fine). With Leonard, there’s probably a bit more IF coverage, but probably zero for the OF.
  16. I don’t think it was the cold. It definitely wasn’t freezing yesterday. I wonder if he did something to cause it when he dove for the ball in the LF corner yesterday. It didn’t seem like he was hurt then, and I think he also hit after that.
  17. That might actually help him.
  18. Turned out to be a great day for totality here. Not perfect, there were high clouds. But with the eclipse glasses, I don’t think I could tell a difference. Temps got up to low 70s, so that added to it. Part way through totality, I ditched the glasses and just looked around. Pretty surreal to see how dark it had gotten, I guess I wasn’t sure what to expect. I kept them off and observed the other side of the eye of the hurricane and the relightening of the environment. It was just kind of stunning how quickly that occurred.
  19. If we want to guesstimate visiting fans at Las Vegas games, baseball is probably closer to football in terms of popularity. I want to say baseball is probably closer to hockey in terms of a schedule, but we’re also talking different times of the calendar, and hockey games are more individual with few back to backs whereas baseball is more day to day and in series. I don’t know, maybe the typical baseball traveling fan and typical Las Vegas visitor do or don’t share much of a commonality with each other? I would think those in the trenches of this relocation have probably done some research on this, but this situation is such a mess that maybe it hasn’t been taken into consideration much at all.
  20. Different list. Liabilities, not assets.
  21. This phrase does not compute.
  22. Along those lines, I noticed a neighbor that flew a Trump flag four years ago has put a Biden flag up this weekend.
  23. Humbling weekend. Now go to Pittsburgh and make amends.
  24. The baseball gods brushed us back after we got a little too chesty over the plate with the 6-1 start to the season.
