  1. WILLI! Oh, wait, he’s on the other side now.
  2. Is now a good reminder that Monty Williams is the second highest paid head coach in the NBA?
  3. He may be why MLB downsized all of the player name jersey fonts. Or MLB just likes implementing dumb ideas at times.
  4. Alex Lange enters the chat.
  5. Looks at lineup graphic on TV. Baez .282? What?! Oh, wait, that’s OPS. Ok, that makes sense now.
  6. Tigers down by 1, but the no hitter is still intact.
  7. That’s fine, he’s only got 0-1 on him at that point. Maybe he is still out on the plate appearance, but the bunt was obviously a bad decision on 0-1 after the first pitch.
  8. So, Manning and Wentz are givens for the night cap. Faedo, Vest, and Chafin are the others. Everybody else on the pitching staff is a either starter or pitched in the opener.
  9. Good games from Maeda and Keith, but they’ve been forgotten about now.
  10. Pretty obvious Vierling wasn’t up to it. But how many ball players are up to bunting anymore?
  11. Fixed it for you. The games move fast. That reliever needs a head start.
  12. I’m fine with Miller getting the ball then. It didn’t work out. It happens. But I’d have been fine with Foley as well. Honestly I’d have been fine with leaving Holton in. To me, this game down to lack of offense. Maeda held up his end, got them through 6 when they needed the innings. Sure, Miller gave up a solo home run. But the offense struggles again, 3 runs in 9 innings, strike outs galore against Ryan. Lange and McKinstry are going to be blamed, maybe Miller, too. For the sake of the pitching staff, it’s probably better to have lost in the 12th than go on further. Lange is what he is now, and it’s not very good. McKinstry booted it, and that sucks. Can’t do that then. It shouldn’t have gotten to the 12th. Now they need Manning to go 6 and the offense needs to show up. And they probably do need to seriously consider sending Lange to Toledo to work on control. He’s just not good right now.
  13. Add in the fact that he’s probably the bottom of the bullpen anyway. It’s great he can throw the ball a gazillion miles an hour. But the control isn’t there.
  14. Carpenter jacks a two run pizza dong.
  15. I got chills when he started wagging his finger. That was like when Hulk Hogan was losing but suddenly got that look on his face and he started exhaling and you just knew he was about to pound the opposition upside the head five times, through him off the ropes, pick him up, body slam him and then go to the atomic leg drop as the finisher.
  16. Maeda looks good in the 1st. Carpenter with a mini adventure catch and then a nice sliding catch.
  17. The other issue with that alignment is that one of Carpenter/Canha is on the bench. Unfortunately the team offense isn’t in position to do that.
  18. It’s the Bennedict Mathurin effect.
  19. I forget which one it was (3rd or 4th movie), but the edition with Sean Connery was a good pairing of the two.
  20. Is it sponsored? The answer to all your questions is money.
  21. I heard a comment (and can’t remember where now) that the Tigers aren’t really confident yet in Perez as an OF. Last night was probably garbage time. Or maybe what I heard was bunk.
  22. The irony here is that Selleck was considered for the role of Indiana Jones. But I think the Magnum PI thing didn't allow for time on a movie set.
  23. My thought after last night was hedging towards putting a lineup out there for the early game to win it and go from there in the "nightcap". But then here's the thing with the position players. They're all on call all day today. Kelly probably catches the early game and Rogers probably catches the second game. Greene probably gets a game at DH and a game in the field. I think those might have been the only assumptions going into today. I kind of wish Faedo stayed in to finish last night's game and then Chafin and Vest were fully ready to go today. Maybe I'm thinking of it wrong, but I think have more fully ready arms available today would have been the way to go. We know Hinch doesn't like to use pitchers in both games as he ahs said as much. And just because the trio pitched yesterday, that doesn't mean none of them are available today. But I think this situation goes back building a bullpen with more multiple inning options. Having the scheduled day off this week does help things out. The doubleheader doesn't, although Manning up as the 27th man. I'd option Manning down again after today as that availability is there. Its unfortunate for him. Maybe Olson would be a consideration there. But his spot in the rotation and Manning today doesn't line up well for the next go round. Maybe if Mize had looked poor he gets sent down to "rehab". But that just doesn't seem to be the scenario.
