  1. Uhm, hello? You forgot about Monte Morris being out. And you call yourself a fan......
  2. Yup, they look lost on both sides of the court too often. It seems like they've been doing more defensive switching off on picks/screens lately. I thought they were done with that as a default defense? Although it probably doesn't make much difference anyway.
  3. Stockton and Malone were out and the Pistons couldn’t capitalize.
  4. I’ve never seen such confidence associated with a 20some game losing streak.
  5. That’s interesting. I can see his point of it being more of a straight line by flattening the curve around 1st. So, that would offset the speed lost by running in a curved line vs a straight line. But, and I admit I’m nowhere near qualified to theorize about it in an educated manner but I’m going to offer my hack opinion anyway, it doesn’t seem like there’s enough to speed to gain from home to second by flattening the curve. I but maybe the thinking is that there’s more surface traveled at/around top speed which does offset the additional distance. I just caught the feet/corner combos. I would think right foot on inside and left foot on outside would risk more slippage and/or ankle rolls. The left foot on the inside would seem to work better with the momentum of the rest of the body chugging around 1st. I don’t know. I wasn’t good enough at baseball nor fast enough to worry about such things. Usually if I got to first, that was it. Then the coach gave me a map of how to get to 2nd.
  6. I don't think it will affect doubles. I think on doubles attempts out of the box, runners try to cut the corner of the bag closest to the mound. A curved path cutting that corner would start in foul territory. Or I could be thinking about it wrong.
  7. It'd be helpful if the Jazz go with only 4 on the floor.
  8. MLB Announces Modifications To Pitch Clock, Other Rule Changes This one is interesting:
  9. So, if anyone wants to hold onto the well regulated militia as the right to have whatever weaponry one wants to because it’s in the constitution, then they must also adhere to this as well, right?
  10. Until they aren’t useful.
  11. So how was the 2006 World Series banter between you and your father?
  12. I’m all for deadening the baseball.
  13. Reyes should be an upgrade over Zach Reks. If Lotte signs Harold Castro and Drew Hutchison, I think you gotta take them seriously.
  14. If there were a way to scale that down to 12 total to carry an extra bat. I don’t know if that’s through more stamina in the bullpen or just using options to play with depth in Toledo. Maybe that 5th spot isn’t always used, but when the schedule calls for it, make it a bullpen day assuming the rest status allows it?
  15. So trying to tank the last quarter/third of last season is no different than the start of this season with the highest paid coach in terms of record.
  16. "Lee, put down that galldarned math book and soak your arm in this beer cooler."
  17. Consumers have money and companies will continue to find ways to get that money.
  18. The Slice should be lit for this one.
  19. Showed the stirrups, wasn't afraid to get dirty. Classic end of the bench do it all end of the bench infielder. Shane Halter had Pecota's poster in his childhood room.
  20. Is the "M" silent?
  21. I mean, sure, if you want to take a cruddy season and make it worse.
  22. My worthless opinion is that there's too much throwing hard rather than art of pitching on the mound.
  23. That usage is kind of what I am thinking. Maybe a few more starts, maybe the earlier starts might be more 2 lineup trips or a 70ish pitch count rather than 5 innings, but gradually increase over the season if the start is good enough. So, I guess the flip side is, for those that think he this might be a bit soft for him, what kind of usage should be expected? What should the Tigers get out of him this season in terms of starts and innings?
  24. I don’t think anyone is suggesting the glue factory. But what is a reasonable expectation for him in 2024? He’s pitched 150 innings once. A max of 109 in the minors one season and 114 for Auburn. Yes, his second highest workload during a season was in college (followed by 13 in the minors that year). I agree with you, I would think he and the Tigers have a plan and are implementing it to get have him as prepared as possible to be ready for 2024. But what is a reasonable expectation for that best case workload?
