I don't understand the math with zero views but more than zero replies. These damn cybermatrishuns are ruining everything about this sport.

I'm not ready to give up on Hayes either. At this point I don't care if he lives up to whatever a 7th overall pick is supposed to be. If he can develop into a 3rd guard in bench guard that can run the offense and play good defense, I'm good with it. His play does look different, it does look more confident and decisive. But that perception needs to be backed up with some numbers, too. I think that perceived improvement started with the November 7 game at Boston, so it gets muddled a bit just by looking at monthly splits. This view shows him going in the right direction, but being honest, that was the only way to go with the October that he threw up there (how about that euphemisim). I think this captures his Hyde vs his Jeckyl a bit better. Maybe some of this is simply due to a bit more playing time per game, I don't know. -

This should be a reminder about the variability from game to game in college sports and a reason why to actually play the games out on the field rather than make assumptions based on reputation and/or past results.

That was an impressive rumble on his part.

And lose the revenue from the championship game?

The sequence where Livers separated his shoulder in a non foul, was clearly in pain and one armed, still dropped a 3 in front of the Pistons' bench, then tried to play defense one armed and wincing, and then the Pistons took another possession and still refused to call a time out to get him out of the game....... What the hell was that? -

Yeah, that move kind of came out of nowhere. -
Correct. It is a Scott Harris move. Calling it an Al Avila move is simply lazy and thoughtless. It is notable that Harris has signed Boyd twice. It doesn't mean that's necessarily good or bad, but it is kind of interesting.

Then win the game.

Kenny Rogers 2.0?

The Tigers could use some playoff experience in the rotation.

I see a middle finger extended from a fist in Minnesota.

Completely random, but worthy of noting. Buck O'Neil popped up as one of the players when I jumped on baseball reference. If thinking of Buck O'Neil's voice and story telling don't brighten your mood, gosh, I just don't know what to tell you.

Heck, didn't the Marlins sign him as a SS? Baez to 2B, Cabrera to SS. What a fun double play combo that could be, eh?

Who here isn't doing what they used to could do at 39?

Ain't next year yet. Still got time to change.

That mistake is being exacerbated by the mistake of keeping him on the major league roster despite his not being a player worthy of a spot on a major league roster.

Performance is absolutely the issue with Cabrera. If he were a .750 OPS type of hitter, his heath issues and lack of dandy defensive value wouldn’t be an issue. But he’s not, those days have passed by.

Cabrera and Candelario were essentially similar hitters last season, just for a bit of perspective. Yet some folks wanted one run out of town while wanting to keep the other for one more season. Makes a whole lot of sense.

He's banked $30M+ per season the last 6 seasons despite being league average at best. He's got another $40M on the way this season whether he plays or not. Those are pretty damn good terms.
