I was a fan of the Houston CF hill. The flagpole was indeed in play at the time, too. And the Crawford boxes. It seemed like they tried too much, went with too many idiosyncrasies. The hill was unique to Houston in terms or present day ball yards.

I happened to see this on TV. Straightaway CF shot, not a cheapy whatsoever. A little girl, I'm guessing early grade schooler, in the picnic area got the ball from an older boy, maybe big brother? Anywho, she walked up to the fence, stepped up on the foot railing to see over the fence, cocked her arm to throw, and then the camera cut away. So now I'm left to wonder, did she throw it back in? And if she did, what did the CF do? Did he toss it back up to the big brother? Baddoo drilled a HR high off of the building in back of RF in the game. I'm not sure if the RF even moved.

Heck, you have a tarp for your driveway. I'd expect your lawn to be immaculate.

This is one of the reasons I like to record the game and start watching it from the beginning while the game is going on. I can zip through the commercials. I've also taken to trying to get Hinch's post game comments more recently. There's a lot of fluff between the final out and his postgame presser.

That was brilliant. I don't think a slow motion replay was shown on the broadcast. I suspect Torres felt the runners hit hit the bag before the ball hit his palm and that's why he continued the play. And everybody else on the field followed suit. The rundown was set up, even Skubal charging towards the plate. Such a heads up play by all involved. How often does that situation arise? There was no delay on the Tigers.

I hadn’t thought of who would be pulling double duty in the field. I’m fine with Baez doing the SS/CF thing. I’m not worried as much about someone like Torkleson playing both games at 1B. Thats going to be a lot of land for Malloy to cover, but he’ll have to handle one of those games. It’s too bad they don’t make the first game a 1p start. Sure it’s 11a local, but they do that in Boston for Patriots Day.

Vierling up as the spare and then Jung down after the doubleheader? I would think Greene might DH one of those games. I don’t think he had a rest day going into this series. But now with two days off, that aspect might not matter. But that’s a lot of OF to cover for a guy that they’ve wanted to be mindful of. That’s probably not the best place for Vierling to start his season at, but it would serve the greater good.

I wouldn’t be adverse to Cleveland winning. Seeing the tall front line win would be fun and I thought adding Hunter was a good move. Plus after seeing some of the, shall we say, slight nudging of the Knicks where applicable in the first round, I’d welcome all of the teeth gnashing about weak TV ratings in a Cavs vs Thunder finals.

He might’ve been a neighbor of mine. I might’ve bumped into him at Stanley’s getting the kielbasa for Christmas this past offseason. I wonder if he was an altar boy for the Polish masses?
