  1. That stinks. And I was hoping for a pair of game 7s, but that possibility was kicked last night. I guess there's still always hope for wining the lottery tonight.
  2. I took a hunter's safety course probably 30-35 years ago. The first thing we were taught and it remains in my head today even though I do not hunt or shoot. Always treat a gun as if it is loaded with real rounds. So, again, in today's age of green screens and CGI and stuff, why is this possible?
  3. Detroit Pistons (0-1) vs Chicago Bulls (1-0)
  4. I guess I don't understand this either. I guess I would assume every prop gun would be completely solid with no capability of firing off even so much as a blank.
  5. It brings up the concept of "better". What is better over 162 games? I don't think 3 or 4 games out of 162 means one team is decidedly proven better than another. Its useful for seeding, I think that's fine. But then you look at the Dodgers as a wildcard at 106 wins and division winners at 107, 95, and 88 wins. I'm sorry, I don't buy those division winners being better than the Dodgers over the course of a season. MLB needs to change the one game elimination assignment to reward the better teams.
  6. Throw the Cardinals in there. 16 playoff appearances and 2 championships in the past 3 decades.
  7. A lot of people use a silent or poorly enunciated T after a P. I like the Darling goes strong with it.
  8. Wait, you mean you didn't factor in TWTW and sock height?
  9. I don't know, I'd like this kind of a run of seasons. 8 straight division championships and playoff appearances? You know, I bet the numerical odds (not the Vegas odds) of the results of the playoff appearances line up with what actually happened on the field. 3 lost NLDS. 2 lost NLCS. 2 lost WS. 1 won WS. 1 TBD, although at worst would be a lost NLCS. Where do I sign up for this?
  10. Nothing is bullet proof in the playoffs. Too short of a sample size. Remember, the Tigers swept the Astros in a road series earlier this year and won the overall season series 5-2.
  11. So that’s half of the Mt Rushmore of “Tigers that got away to a World Series winner”.
  12. Tampa (payroll $64M) division winner by 8 games. New York ($209M) and Boston ($154M), wildcards.
  13. I was a bagger a little over 30 years ago, well before bringing your own bags was a thing. We had a semi regular customer who had created her own totes out of wife beaters. She simply sewed the waist of the A shirts closed, and then she used the shoulder straps as the handles. They were pretty strong and the fabric was much more durable than a plastic bag.
  14. Maybe I'm just old, but I enjoy it when a SP gets beyond the 6th in a playoff game.
  15. Average age of the Pistons' starting lineup tonight was 22.85 years old. That'd be 22.17 if Cunningham were starting and JacksonF was on the bench. Average age of the Lakers' starting lineup the night before was 32.78 years old. The Laker starting five were seniors in high school whilst the Pistons were in 2nd grade. This means something. Or nothing. Probably more likely nothing.
  16. Buckaroo was released and then signed with the Rangers organization in August.
  17. I don't about sustaining his 2021, but at least he put 2019 into question rather than affirm those stats. I wonder how much extra rust there could be for a catcher that was just trying to return in 2022.
  18. It is kind of silly, isn't it?
  19. What is the catch phrase for the upcoming draft? Who will be the top prospect?
  20. Verified.
  21. The umpires aren't calling a 3D strike zone.
  22. 50 watts per channel, Babycakes.
  23. The length of the games and the start times are just ridiculous. But its the same in all sports. The Super Bowl is probably the best championship start time, but even with that, why on a Sunday night which drains people for Monday morning?
  24. Great song. This past weekend, there was a high school band rendition of it at halftime of the football game. The effort was nice, but the slower pace made it suffer in comparison to the original. The other school did a halftime show homage to previous cult classics, like the SpongeBob theme (a little slow, but good), the Simpsons (good stuff), and Star Trek (sounded really good by a marching band).
